Ultem is relatively hard to machine and does chip, and it is (or used to be) super expensive. They are definitely using it in this application as a flex.

it an if you don't know how to mill it but it is getting cheaper and more readily accessible for milling and more mainstream commercial machines are capable of milling it versus only the higher end machines you would only see at giantcnc operations

Found an old rubber-handled Kershaw folder in my 1997 Honda accord I bought, waaaaay back in the day. I can honestly say that started my interest in the knife world. (45 now) Years later, I bought a Blur, and it’s been many-a-knives purchased since then. So I love the Kershaws and glad to see them stepping their game up recently. They do have some time-tested bangers too, the Blur, the Knockout, the Leek. And remember the Piston? They discontinued that, and I searched forever for it, found a private shop in like Minnesota or something that had 4 of them in stock, long after the discontinue. Bought all 4, for $100 bucks a pop as I’m terrible with finances and average intelligence as best. The Dividend was a sexy blade too they did away with, not sure why. Anyway, that’s my story. PS. Olight is having a blowout sale, I just got the alert on my iPad in case your interested.

I went to the knife store to buy a benchmade shootout today. They didn't have any in stock. I come home and see this kershaw livewire video. I like the looks. How does it compare to the shootout? Which would you guys pick? Very similar price. Kershaw is about $30 cheaper. Im going to smkw on Saturday. Gonna check out both and buy one. Saturday is national knife day if you were not already aware. Smkw usually has some deals and giveaways on national knife day. Gonna celebrate national knife day with a new knife.

$265 it’s a little pricey in my opinion, even with a magnaCut steel blade. I have several OTF knives from cobra Tech And my Leatherman Arc has the same magna cut steel blade with a bunch of other tools. With that being said, great video, and it’s still an awesome knife.
