Even though it lost to ‘Famalay’, for 2019 Road March Song, I think ‘SAVANNAH GRASS’ will be played and remembered longer. It’s a song that touches the soul, as the essence of T&T Carnival, like none of it’s rivals except maybe ‘So Long’ - just my humble opinion‼️

I CRIED! AT WORK ! listening to this! I dont know why but this made me think of growing up in St Lucia- the simple things that were so good then - getting a dollar from my grand father (RIP) to go buy a bag of plums. Sitting on the steps watching my grandmother cut breadfruit! This songs melody is so beautiful and joyful and sad all in one- it makes you appreciate and love your island and think about the simple things of drinking fresh coconuts and enjoying life and music with friends. I have heard this song already 27 times and I will continue to listen to it and cling to those memories it reminds me of! Thank you for this song!
This song/video is pure pure pure joy. The pure joy of having a specific place and time and culture and family in your heart.

This song is beautiful. I get emotional when I listen to it, and I understand and relate to their love and respect for the culture of Carnival. Culture is ancestral, and our Caribbean culture is the foundation of who we are as a people - our heritage, food, music, dance, art, speech and our resilience. I am from The Bahamas and Junkanoo is our love. It's our culture, our West African heritage, the gift our ancestors brought to the islands and left for us. Hold your culture close to your hearts my West Indian people! And tell the stories of your history so future generations know where they come from.🇧🇸🇧🇸

The nostalgia that this song and the imagery of the video creates is overwhelmingly resonating and I'm not even Trini but a fellow islander. Makes me crave the good old days of island life, family and friends. 🇬🇾🇧🇧

Writing from Barbados, just watching those clips from "old days" and hearing this song puts me in a happy place. Even though I have never been to Trinidad this song conjures up memories of years ago here in Bim. This song may have lost out to Machel and co the usual way songs do whenever it is close, but trust me, this song will love on forever.
