Kat & Rob Doubles Trapeze | Forgotten Voyage | Strawberry Fair 2019

Rob & I performed together for the first time at Strawberry Fair in Cambridge on Saturday 1st June. It was such a brilliant day and the crowds were so receptive!
I approached Rob with the idea of doing a doubles trapeze routine way back in February. I've done a handful of duo acts already and I really wanted to work on one for Strawberry Fair as it would be my last big performance in Cambridge. Thank goodness Rob said yes! Maybe with a slight hesitance =P
We worked on some sequences back then, with the help of some other doubles trapeze friends. Things felt great. Then life, injuries, holidays, work, and other circus things got in the way and haltered our progress... Fast forward to two weeks before SHOW DAY, we managed to get something which resembled a full routine. And about 4 sessions of rehearsals later, we have this!
I wanted to perform to something different to what I've done before, so I decided to go the instrumental route. I picked Lindsey Stirling as I had been a fan of hers FOREVER and had a few favourites. Rob and I tossed between Waltz and this one. I think this was the perfect choice.
The day before show day, we decided to change our beginning. Only to change it again and kind of back to the original with an added rigging element to it just before we performed. Lol. Show biz eh? Overall, I am SUPER STOKED on what we delivered. This is in my top 2 of favourite routines!!

A huge thanks to Rob for sticking it out over these past few months, and for a moment there, I thought it wouldn't happen after the injury. But I'm so glad it happened! I had such a wonderful time working through and trying random stuff with you. You were great with going with my ideas =) Thank you for working so hard, being so patient and basing like a champ! Woohoo!
