American gymnasts seem to be training in healthier ways nowadays, so I don’t think being in your mid-to-late 20s is gonna impact them nearly as much as they expected it to. A lot of gymnasts in the past quit due to burnout too, so.. it had less to do with their age in that case too.

For her to fall off the beam, take multiple steps on her vault, step out of bounds on the floor, have a few little wobbles, etc and then to win it and be on top just shows how great she really is. Congratulations to her and the rest of the team.

Simone's routines difficulty, in all areas, are more superior by leaps and bounds. So her scores are much higher than the others. Did I make it simple enough for you to comprehend?? 🙄

Wow, what a performance. But the most powerful thing for me was what she had to say in the interview at the end. The importance of mental health, and weekly therapy, and supporting the younger generation as they go through the journey and try to find their own balance. I was going to pick on the mistakes but F that - she did great. That floor performance was simply amazing. Even tho she did mistakes there also - it was just mesmerizing to watch... I still can not ever get over "simone you are the oldest gymnnast to make this team since the 1950's, the sport for woman started in 1948. Id love NBC to talk about the 2 woman that biles is chasing. they won the olympic gold medals back to back larissa Latynia & vera ceslavska but the difference is they won back to back and gymnastics was basically ballet. Simone would be the first to win no consecutives games which is insane in itself!

Please stop talking about AGE. Simone does not look 27. She looks 19. Why do sports commentators always talk about how old an athlete is. It’s sickening that they keep doing that. They did the same thing to Michael Jordan when he was playing for Chicago Bulls. It bugged me so much and it totally turned me off. Simone is the greatest gymnast in the world.

The good thing is that when she falls she gets right back up and finishes like the champ she is. And it is acceptable for her and every other athlete to fall sometimes. Ain't nobody perfect!

Her vault is one of the most powerful out there and so impressive, but getting a 9.1 execution score really makes me question the objectivity of WAG judging. Each of those very large steps (defined in COD as more than shoulder width) is a .3 deduction, so combining that with feet crossed (.1) and slight leg bend (.1) it shouldn't be possible to get any less than 1.1 - 1.3 points in deduction for that vault. And before anyone says it, I'm well aware I cannot do that vault, I'm just putting in my two cents on why I think women's judging is biased.

Watch closely...her left knee is badly injured, that's what caused her to fall on beam. Also, she takes all her impact on Floor in her right leg and her left leg bounces, making her go out of bounds and also not land cleanly. She's hugging it in the post-interview and limping throughout.
