As a telugu speaking Indian from Hyderabad I can confidently say we don’t have shared history like Pakistan does with Bengal and Punjab. We therefore don’t share any sympathy, nostalgia towards the state of Pakistan. We would ideally like no association with it whatsoever.

In my childhood I would wonder why was there so much romanticism towards Pakistan from the “north”. I could never associate myself with any of their culture. Even in both telugu states you would see Indian Muslims having different cultural backgrounds from those of north/Pakistan. They speak telugu, watch telugu content, eat telugu cuisine( more of tomato Pappu, pickles, pesarattu etc), wear dhotis on a day to day basis. Maybe there would be sectarianism similarities but other than that I see zero connection.

Thank you someone said it. We are from south. For us Pakistan is a completely new entity. We have no similarities with them either culturally or ethically. May be the Hindi speaking belt have some shared love towards Karachi Lahore and Rawal pindi. I see many North Indians feel sympathetic towards Pakistanis as for their shared roots. But for us we only judge you by your intent and capability. Which was always hostile in nature. Also partition happened 75 years ago 3 gens have passed. It’s a completely new entity on both sides.

Nehru is being mostly criticized for excessive Muslim appeasement, anti- Hindu instance with compromising interests of India, first whiles dealing with Pakistan and later with China. However, there is no doubts about democratic tradition strengthening, socialist policy, industrial and educational revival with scientific temper for Nehru would always be remembered. As a South Indian I can say that I feel 100% hostility towards the establishment and state in Pakistan. We have had too many terrorist attacks where unarmed civilians have been massacred. With the fresh wave of attacks on our troops, many of whom are kids we grew up with in South India, I don't think there is any possibility of peace or resumption of diplomatic relations with Pakistan. Engagement should focus on getting Pakistan back on the FATF grey list unless it stops sending infiltrators across the LoC. That being said, I've never hated the Pakistani people and I hope they get their country to withdraw from PoK and give them a chance to prosper in peace. You can not only never win in Kashmir, you'll also be ending any chance of lifting millions of Pakistanis out of poverty if you continue to try. For now, I reluctantly wish your country the worst and I hope the economic damage from your current crisis is permanent. Why ? Because it means less money to spend on terrorism and more people around me being martyred on our borders. Jai Hind.

As an Indian, I’d like to share something honestly about Pakistan and it’s inhabitants which I presume shall resonate with common Indian emotion. Well, first and Foremost Pakistan was unequivocally divided based on religious/cultural lines, so that nullifies any “same log” fallacy right away! 2) Indian kids are never taught about “enemies” certainly not in their syllabuses but rather encouraged to indulge/immerse themselves in progressive ideas and behaviour based on my experience i say that contrary what we see about kids studying in Pakistan. 3) We, mostly non-muslim folks don’t just like peaceful environment we believe in it, and so thrive in it unlike Islamic Republics! 4) We appreciate, respect progressive people, countries over our “jealousies” unlike what we see in 🇵🇰 mostly through their behaviour. 5) We certainly have totally different ‘mindset’ us Indians to Pakistanis. 6) We wish to gain skills abroad to COME BACK later in our country to better it(many won’t but that’s fine too) unlike dual-nationality brethren. 7) We despise being “short-sighted” and certainly cannot imagine us being a nuclear power while our masses starve for daily food. 8) Therefore, WE CANNOT BE FRIENDS! Because we wanna live in peace and progress and with Pakistan on board it will only gets more difficult. At least till the time Pakistan don’t get rid of it’s booming terrorism Industry! Peace!

@@mantasha_binte_idrees.20 Y’ll should indeed go and so should Indians. I don’t say that’s bad. Lack of opportunities holds true for both countries but this “Theocratic” exploitation of people in the name of Islamic Republic by Institutions in Pakistan have cost them dear. And ironically all these exploiters will have an escape route planned in case he/she gets charged in sedition or corruption, blasphemy cases. Without accepting responsibility and credibility for a country’s betterment who’ll be motivated to improve it on the first place. People in Pakistan will have to get out this perpetual religious indoctrination which have robbed them off their critical thinking abilities completely to a level that they seems incapable of deciding on their priorities! Majority chunk of Pakistan population is youth about 65-70% yet no one in Political scenario seems to be bothered about devising policies for upgrading educational level and skilling and future-proofing youth, compare that to rest of Pakistan’s neighbouring countries things have started to change for the better! We majority of Indians would like to see Pakistanis progress and contribute equally in creating a conducive progressive environment for South-Asia to boom rather than fancying it’s possible disintegration because at the end of the day it’ll be normal people like us who’d suffer not the elites and religion to their disappointment nor Habibi-Sheikhs will come then to save their asses! Kushal is pathetic when it comes to rationally putting forth a Hindutva point, in a discussion. He can monologue well, especially to an audience whose fundamental understanding is the same as his. But when it comes to people who don’t share the same base reality, he just starts getting emotional and says things like “you can’t understand us, because you’re too Abrahamic”. AIM would be much better suited to this, but he is too smart and viscous for Shehzad to have on, and too honest and non-pandering for the Hindutva crowd.

@@dhruvseoni8418 Umm yeah I kinda agree, tho I said Kushal because these guys have talked before but yeah definitely AIM would bring so much more nuance because he understands the Pakistani lens and obviously our lens as well because I genuinely want people like Shehzad to understand where does Hindutva come from what does it stand for, why people vehemently vote for Modi in National Elections since he himself said that most Pakistanis know about India through a very typical sort of media.

@@sahasss7100 agreed. shehzad however has typical leftist on-sidedness and Modi-Derangement, calling anything not globalist-leftist as Fascist. @@anonymouslyopinionated656 Yeah I agree but again I believe that's partly because that's the only thing he has consumed, I mean if you'll base your idea of India on The Hindu or The NYT Op-eds then obviously you're gonna believe what he believes and at the end of the day he looks at India from Pakistan so that's also a very different perspective lol. Hi shehzad... i have 2 points- 1.The Hindu is not leftist... its communist... infact its jokingly referred as chennai branch of the CCP (a bit of an overstatement but not entirely false, given many of its past and present senior executives ties and sympathies with the communists) 2. Regarding rewriting nehrus role- You have to understand where its coming from... nehru is in my opinion responsible for 2 of the biggest issue which India faces today... China and Kashmir... but it was never a part of the popular narrative... we were taught only the good stuff... Our History books were written by the likes of tappar and gang... some of whom were related to nehru and most of them committed to the communist agenda... so now what you see is a pushback... not that strong but still... i am not justifying it but one has to understand where its coming from.

The cultural similarity which Pakistan has with India is more similarity with the north Indian culture. In fact the north Indian culture has far more similarities with Pakistan than South India. I am from south. In south generally Pakistan is regarded as an enemy nation and this feeling has got heightened after Kargil and Mumbai attacks. The general sentiment here is India makes overtures but Pakistan rebuffs it and follows it with an attack. So bahut ho gaya. Just concentrate on India's economic development and let Pakistan be. Modiji's and Jai Shankerji's indifference is in fact greatly appreciated here. In north however maybe because of historical connections there is a section which wants dialogue and friendly relations with Pakistan. A sentiment not shared by south.

THE AMBANI STORY, RETOLD Mukhesh (the elder one) and Anil are the two sons of the Reliance Industries founder Dhirubhai Ambani. Upon the founder's demise, his business empire was divided between Mukheh and Anil. Probably out of the usual sibling rivalry, Anil was always jealous of his elder brother Mukhesh and tried to show him up. Mukhesh, on the other hand, put his nose to the grindstone and built up his empire to one of the largest companies in the world and also became one of the top five richest persons in the world. Meanwhile, Anil ran his business to the ground and declared himself in a London court to be bankrupt. Notwithstanding the sibling rivalry, Mukhesh bailed out his younger brother with a loan. See any parallel between India and Pakistan? India, the elder brother, is still waiting to be permitted to help Pakistan, the younger brother.
