Hey, so her suing happened in 2014 after she got out of rehab for substance abuse and an eating disorder (caused by her producer) and because of that her producer (who also ran the label she was on) didn’t allow her to release any music for years until 2016 where she finally dropped this. She was still under his label at this time and he still profited off her but she at least got to make music again without having to technically work with him. She didn’t, however, make almost any money from it. In 2023 she finally fulfilled her contract and is no longer under his label.

Pretty sure the flag she was running with was a bedsheet. Never noticed that before watching the video again in this reaction. Adds even more umph to the symbols in the video.

There's so much truth-telling in this video it's insane because she's telling you exactly what goes on in Hollywood and who they serve

I don't think most people know the balls it took to make a music video like this, before all of the Me Too movements started, and artists and actors had no one behind them.

Need more kesha, her 2023 was experimental more than Rainbow and amazing also she was free from all her contracts in 2023 but in 2016 she was allowed to make music under his label but without his input and control, so he still made money (the chat kinda confused you cause the case is very complicated but i've been following it for years and even read the court documents). Also she never got paid for Timber which she wrote with her mom who also wrote for dolly parton.

She was finally freed because she was contractually obligated to create 5 albums and each had to have 10 songs minimum. The producer is pure evil and made her create and album with less songs than that so she would stay longer. He even made her disappear for periods of time, meaning, he blocked every possibility for her to make music on her own or with others.

If you listen to her old stuff you can hear her great voice but Dr.Luke produced it and added a lot of techno and auto tune. He had a sound he was wanting to create and he wanted a club girl sound and nothing else.
