This is the prime example of why King Taengu will always be my Ultimate Bias. Amazing vocals, unbelievably beautiful in every style she does, and a personality that continues to shine no matter how long she's been in the industry and she just keeps getting better. There's a reason why every female idol looks up to her and freaks out whenever she's in the room, yet Taeyeon stays so humble all this time and she just shines in everything she puts her effort into. Btw "If" is the first ost she ever sang in 2008 when she was only 19. It became a hit in Korea to the point that it was topping charts and became competition on music shows against her own group's comeback. The song still charts on Melon (the main k-chart) until today although it's been 15 years already! It was especially appreciated for Taeyeon's emotional singing and rich voice and she was given the nickname "a singer who sings like she went through 7 divorces" by a producer/composer. In the following years, she sang many more osts, all of which became hits, giving her the title of the OST Queen. She's really an incredible vocalist!!

If you enjoy her live singing, I recommend you watch her Begin Again videos! She sang "If", "Blue" and "Four Seasons" that you heard snippets of here already but also multiple over iconic covers, the best of all being Adele's "When I Was Young" but also "Time Spent Walking On Memories", "Bad Guy", "Slow Motion" and many others!! They're all so good and songs like "If" and "When I Was Young" really brought people to tears when hearing them live even though they couldn't understand the lyrics in the case of "If". OMG my one and only!! Taeyeon is a really introvert and low key person. But she kinda show different side of her in various occations since so many eyes n responsibility on her ever since debut. On tv shows= cute Taenggu,on radio=mature,in the group= selfless,MC= caring,etc. But the real side of her is always on the stage singing. So I don't think anyone can easily judge her if only seeing one side of her. Even in music,Taeyeon is more a type of challenging new things and show different concepts. It's really rare for an artist that 16 years now her heart and intentions remain the same. King Taeyeon has had many amazing albums and hits since, but there is a reason why "My Voice", her first full album from 2017 remains to this day one of my favorite solo albums ever (even outside of the "k-pop bubble"). every song is a no-skip and i think the album is an absolute masterpiece in and of itself, imo the best official first full album Taeyeon could've ever put out. it is a great example of Taeyeon's versatility, both in her voice as well as genres and tempos. every single song is completely unique and different from the other, but they all still manage to make one cohesive and majestic union, telling a story that only her voice could guide us through. it shows the best of her, it's Taeyeon's voice in its full glory and greatness and, aside from MVs and all, i'd highly recommend you listen through it as an introduction to the amazing world of Taeyeon's solo works.

I've watched a fairly good amount of your reaction videos and I really have to say out of all the times I have watched you both getting flabbergasted by so many K-pop groups'/soloists' vocal abilities, I have never seen the both of you as genuinely and utterly awestruck as you were in this reaction video. Taeyeon's is THE VOICE and 'I' is THE SONG that kidnapped me and dragged me down the K-Pop Rabbit-hole in 2015 (that was her solo debut). I will forever be grateful to her for that.
