There was also a really awesome train mission in Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy that takes place on Corellia. What is awesome about that is that the lighting in that mission can actually hit you or your enemies.

Glad they got rid of the "potato-shaped" idea. You can't have something as large as a planet that isn't spherical (or at least approximately spherical) because its own gravity will pull it into that shape.

I only belatedly realized this, but you didn’t opine on the X-Wings being modified with Ion Cannons. Even when this game was hot off the proverbial presses, that didn’t make sense to me, especially since that hovertrain isn’t exactly high speed rail. Some wisecracks about how the Rebels just happen to have an Imperial Landing Craft on hand might’ve been funny too. Well, timeframe was probably too tight.

Simplest explanation I heard was they navigated it in stages, and then Kessel was further along in it's orbit than it was in Solo, so not so close to the nebula.

A gravity well is any significant source of gravity that blocks the use of a hyperdrive such as caused by a star, planet, moon, large asteroid, Interdictor Cruiser, etc.

There's a big difference between the nearly spherical shape of Earth (an oblate spheroid) and a potato shape.

Seeing a representation of Earth and his elevations (without oceans) makes it look like a potato. But yeah, Earth is nearly spherical, that's true. Maybe is the representation xd.

If you can, get a hold of Star Wars Force Commander. It contains one of my favorite Star Wars campaigns. It takes place from the POV of an imperial officer, and they actually portray the imperials as the good guys and competent.

Legends Kessel was made unique not just because of its shape, spice mines, or its location near a collection of black holes, but because the planet itself was a character in many stories. Factories had to be made to provide air, however, the atmosphere was incredibly thin to the point that oxygen masks had to be worn. This forced living beings to conduct business or mine in facilities that were pressurized. The spice itself was actually spun from crystalline spiders that lived in the deep parts of the mine shafts and would attack and suck out the energy from beings or objects that came too close. You couldn't use blasters on them because they would suck the energy from the shots. It had a small moon that sometimes contained a military base for protection. Now in canon, the only things that make the planet unique is its Kessel Run and its spice mines. The planet is generic with a breathable but smoggy atmosphere and is round. How disappointing.
