You become hyper irritable. Similar to what I experienced with a friend who is bipolar. Noises seem magnified. Everything bothers you. But it’s because your level of pain is so far above what you realize it is. That is also the cause of the nausea. After 20+ years, nausea is sometimes the only way I know my pain is worse, because I’m so good at mentally blocking and being the queen of denial. I chose not to take pain meds. I’ve done ketamine infusions. It helped a lot. I take Cymbalta and it helps a lot. I treat with Dr Prager. He saved my life. I can sleep better now. I had jags of insomnia lasting 4-5 days before with no sleep at all. Ketamine didn’t give me visions, but I do have odd things I see in my peripheral vision that I didn’t see before. I knew that could happen and Dr P gave me an antipsychotic before each ketamine infusion. Perhaps that is why I don’t have the reaction she has had. But for someone with CRPS, it’s truly something you weigh before deciding and I did that. My results were worth the side effects.

There has to be more or something else in medical care then going in to a ketamine coma and the expence alone and buster shots after.52,000 Not counting 7 to 800 dollars of buster shots.I know Im a survivor of full-body Rsd from brain, head, entire face through out my entire body for 16 years now.I will never take a chance on this.Who ever does good luck.I will keep up with my research!!

GARTHBOOTS With a diagnosis of CRP/RSD insurance will most likely cover it. Medicare covers it with a copay of 150 dollars. Go see dr Hannah in Clearwater Florida. He will get it covered by insurance for you. Especially if you have Medicare.

I’ve had it for 20+ years. Both arms both legs, internal, migraines, trigeminal nerves, brachial plexus, bladder, digestive system, memory issues, brain fog, vision issues, blood pressure, kidneys, and more, it has caused me to have peripheral artery and peripheral venous insufficiency in both legs, causing me to have multiple blockages. So I’ve been classified as whole body pretty much. I’ve had six ketamine infusions covered by insurance. It took my pain from feeling like I was wrapped in a blanket or a sleeping bag of overwhelming pain, and clarified it in a way I can’t completely describe. But suddenly I could say what it felt like at my knee vs at my hip or thigh, when it was just a mishmash of pain and other symptoms I couldn’t separate prior. And once the pain became this pain here and that pain there, oddly it became something I could better deal with. It really is about our brain as to how we are able to handle pain. Having CRPS doesn’t mean we have an injury that isn’t healed. It means our nerves have started sending traumatic messages to other systems in our body and won’t or can’t stop, causing the other systems to think we have pain (brain), send reinforcements (swelling and white blood cells), to fight off the enemy. Our vascular system narrowing so we don’t lose blood, etc. But in reality we have no wound, we are not in danger of losing blood or getting an infection, so we end up swelling up and having a cold extremity with poor circulation. But our body did it to itself. So the answer isn’t to take heroine’s little sister and lay on the couch like a zombie. It is to try and get our brain to realize the nerves have misinterpreted something or are just outright wrong. They used to go in and literally cut the nerves. Thank God those days are over. But they tried doing PT and OT to reset the nerves. It’s hit or miss and outright torture while finding out if it’s going to work for you. I did a year before I gave up. It did a lot for my pain tolerance but no reset. Ketamine infusions are not a coma. I was out for 1-2 hours. It was a thirty minute slow drip infusion. I don’t remember more than just that time but that is the same as when I had a colonoscopy or my gallbladder out.

And yes, I have Dr Prager as my doctor for a few years now. He is not my first pain doctor but he is the best one so far. His bedside manner is far above most surgeons, many of whom can be quite snarky when patients are in the OR. He is not. He talks to you like you are family even then. He really does care about his patients.

Seems you excel in the art of being a cold hearted critic yet fail miserably in the art of empathy. For someone who suffers horribly with this condition, the last thing I worried about was how many “Uhmmms” were spoken. Finding a cure or some relief is far more important, don’t you think?
