Ketamine is a lifesaver for me too. When I go to the clinic extremely depressed, after the infusion I feel like I was living with a loudspeaker blasting noise in my ears 24/7 and suddenly it gets turned off.

SSRI’s have a lifespan. Had an incredible five years in the late 1990’s with Paxil. Nothing has really worked since then. Twenty etc treatments did nothing. Wouldn’t recommend etc. lost some memory. I think the future of psychiatry will move away from traditional SSRI’s It’s a little maddening to see how quickly the issue of overall cos is consistently dodged by everyone of these sites/testimonials.

Ketamine basically works through the alteration of consciousness and the associated ego dissolving effect which made me realise i may be the artist formally known as "god". Therefore i can do anything. This change of mindset is what lifts people out of depression allied with exercise, diet and meditation

Depression, PTSD and Anxiety and 2 weeks of infusions did nothing but make me stoned and dizzy. My anxiety is now actually worse.

Ketamine has the ability to essentially lower your mind’s egoic defenses as old patterns of behavior begin to shift, this is one possibility for your spike in anxiety. 2 weeks in sounds reasonable for this experience to begin, if one is able, see it through a little longer to find out what happens. It’s an experiment to begin with. I’ve been doing ketamine since December and initially I was totally overwhelmed and thought I wouldn’t be able to continue, but I was able to push through. It’s not for everyone though, this is certain.

@@starkravenmad3206 Hi Stark.. I have had it some, and am exploring it further. I don’t feel I’ve had enough yet to say whether or not it has that level of a benefit for me yet. But I want to find out. And I’ve read about many people who have had amazing recoveries with it. I just think it cold have been brought up as an option- to em but especially to my son, who died by suicide in 2021.

@@juliawilkinson I'm so sorry to hear that especially when ketamine, or the nasal version of it is supposed to be especially good for those in immediate crisis. People who don't have depression, don't understand how tragic it is even for those who don't commit suicide. I think calling it "depression" is a huge disservice. I hope you can find help with your treatments. I still not have decided.

How did it go? Knowing that it might cause negative effects and actually cause opposite effects of what is intended (instead of anti-depressant effect it might cause depression and instead of brain growth it might cause damage to the brain) might be enough for many to prevent abuse. The damage to the bladder and so on might be the scariest thing if used far beyond prescribed. It's also quite a weird drug, so even tho it might be comfortable to take (compared to other psychedelic drugs) it's not necessarily the most fun and practical drug in terms of recreational use. I know it's sometimes been used as a party drug but I think most people wouldn't really be able to see it that way, it's probably often combined with stimulants to make it work as a party drug in which case that might be extremely bad for the brain.

Nasal spray is not advised as Ketamine should be dosed based on weight of the subject. With a nasal spray you are venturing into uncontrolled dosages.

They are kind of underplaying the fact that this stuff at doses used for depression plunges people into deep lucid dream visionary states of consciousness that can be blissful or utterly harrowing depending on set or setting.

@@scottcampbell5536 for me if it works for even a moderate amount of time it is well worth it considering all the money I’ve spent on psychiatrists, therapists, and different meds. Not to mention the absolute hell I go through including wasted time in bed or on the sofa. I know it’s expensive but if it works I’ll get the money. I know what a good life is and this ain’t it.
