I suffer from bipolar depression, anxiety and PTSD. I started ketamine IV therapy last week I've had three treatments total and it has been such a positive experience for me. My doctor does not recommend the oral or nose spray. I made sure to research many of the doctors in my area before I chose the clinic to go to so the doctor that you end up with and the environment that they provide makes a huge difference on your experience. I have been on and off of SSRIs for the last 15 years and all of them made things worse rather than better. I'm never going to take another SSRI again as I am one of those people that is considered treatment resistant. So ketamine has been such a blessing and I highly recommend the treatments. But again do your research go and get free consultations and make sure that you find a doctor that you feel comfortable with. Best of luck to everybody out there who's suffering because I know all too well what it's like ❤

People with bipolar depression should never be on SSRIs by themselves anyway. Have you talked to your doctor about other medications?

@@Ktoppers sorry for my delayed reply I've had my notifications turned off on. I'm intrigued by what you said about bipolar and SSRIs. I am yet to find a good psychiatrist been to several and have been diagnosed multiple things. It's utterly exhausting dealing with mental illness, anxiety and PTSD. I haven't had a ketamine appointment since last November and I'm still struggling with my mental health (and alcoholism which runs in my family and oh so often goes hand in hand with mental illness) 😞 anyway I'm always open to insight and information to help myself and educate myself because none of these doctors have been able to 😆

@bluesweatshirts7113 I have not taken an SSRI in 4 years and I'll never take one again. I've found I'm better off not messing with Rx. Also haven't had a ketamine treatment in probably 8 or 9 months... instead I take L-Tyrosine in the morning and L-Theanine at night. Those supplements help the brain trigger dopamine creation. So I'm able to take over the counter supplements and helped my brain want to make more dopamine and that has been working for me along with sea moss and berberine I'm more the natural supplement pass these days. I like Dr Daniel Amen I started watching his videos and I bought his book and that's where I got the idea from taking those supplements in the morning and at night to create dopamine instead of ever putting Big Pharma prescriptions in my body again

PTSD here. I did the IV infusions. I had 4 infusions already and it has been a life saver for me! I have 2 more left. But the key is to have therapy right after your trip.

It depends on a variety of factors, like what state, what insurance, what provider, what treatment type since there's multiple kinds of ketamine therapies, etc. it can cost more, less, or even be free depending on the factors, so idk if it's accurate to say "In the US" when it varies.@@JenLovesPizza

I had a severe, truly crippling GAD for over a decade and had tried every form of talk therapy and SSRI’s you can imagine with middling to no help. Aafter a set of six IV treatments over 2 weeks things were 95% just straight gone. Life became manageable and there are still hard days and work to do but it truly saved my life.

Been very curious about this. I have had chronic pain my whole life (juvenile arthritis that developed into adult arthritis, stage IV endometriosis, fibromyalgia) and depression, anxiety, and PTSD directly related to the chronic pain. I've been told ketamine can help with ALL of these. But I've also heard bad stories - you highlighted someone for whom it didn't work, and the expense is atrocious. Besides, my pain doctor considers it an "extreme" treatment and won't approve it for my relatively low-grade daily pain levels (nevermind the excruciating spikes that sometimes land me in the ER). Her opinion kind of puts me off of the idea. But man, one treatment that covers a number of my different debilitating conditions? It does appeal...

While spravato didn't cure my depression, while I was on it it helped my chronic spine pain. (I have nerve damage from multiple herniated discs/discectomies). I have a spinal-cord-stimulator and I was able to turn it WAY down during treatment and for about 48 hours. It wasn't a pain cure for me. But it it was a pleasant surprise.

It will work for FM, PTSD, anxiety. To be honest, I hardly have any FM pain anymore and a chronic pain has completely disappeared. Not having as much pain gives you space to handle the emotional aspects. If you give it a chance it might work for you, if it doesn’t you will know within a few treatments. Most clinics, also will customize your cocktail, you can get some Tordall or magnesium (which extends the effectiveness) I hope you find relief and peace.

This treatment would be almost perfect for you imho but then again I'm no doctor and I don't know your pains exactly. I am going on my 4th infusion next Tuesday. I have ptsd from getting hit by the lite rail train in Minneapolis. Im Bi-polar and have treatment resistant depression. If your doctor thinks it's extreme Shea somewhat right but it's becoming more main stream. I'd suggest maybe getting a new primary doc but honestly I'm not sure they even need to sign off on it. All I did was call the clinic got a consult, explained my conditions and then they scheduled me. Idk maybe my clinic "The remedy" is just efficient ? Whatever the case if I were you I'd Google ketamine in your area and see if they can line ya up. You won't regret it. It's like feeling sun on your soul for the first time.

Such a deepseated problem that work environments can't accommodate health treatments. I'm super lucky that I work from home and can set my own schedule, so doctor's appointments generally aren't a problem for me, but there are so few people for whom that is the case. Even if you can mess with your schedule, missing hours might mean a smaller paycheck, which just isn't feasible for so many, especially the chronically ill. Do better, America.

This does work for many people. It is fantastic for pain, including phantom pain, the MS studies are so promising. Definitely go with the infusions as they are more effective. It is safe for most people. A good clinic is worth the money. The nasal is all about profit and not about the patient, the IV infusions are the best, you can always shut off the drip. Insurance does cover some portion of infusions, but not enough to make it availability. The rate increases in blood pressure, and heart rate only occur during the infusion. It is cleared for PTSD and does work, it does work for anxiety. I highly recommend IV infusion treatment. I personally feel it should be made available to veterans and first responders. Average cost for an infusion in America is 600$. Standard start is six sessions. Then boosters when you feel you need them. That’s right, you get control, which could be the most effective part of treatment.

Climate change anxiety!? I say this with the deepest respect...but we CAN do something about it!! I see SOA MANY people complaining about it yet, do NOTHING to contribute! And for those ones- DEAL with your anxiety! Because if you have enough brakn cells to be anxious about it, then you KNOW BETTER and can't just use some "ignorance card" to dip out of the lack of responsibility! For anyone that DOES contribute- THANK YOU and together we will nail this! Keeping our kids involved will also give them the same passion and carry down the good habits 💚

Holy poo ... Work on Yourself! Depression, anxiety worsen PTSD and chronic pain. Realise and process your traumas and only then will you heal. 8 years on SSRIs and I came off them a year ago after 5 years of self discovery. It wasn't easy, still some days are difficult but don't dwell in pity. Get up, work on yourself and your feelings and heal. Tip for beginners. Look at your childhood.
