U R a mad scientist! Those look excellent. Got to try them both. I have to check and see if I have maple extract. Otherwise I might use a drop of real maple syrup, not enough to add a lot of carbs, just a little to add the flavor.

Great job! Question: would the yeast kick one out of ketosis? Or is the amount so small it doesn’t matter? Excited to try both recipes! Rock On!

1 tsp of yeast has about 1.5 grams of carbs. No issue for me. But everyone is different. 👍🏼

Back in the day, I used to love those Mudslide drinks, but they sure weren’t keto. (And they may have had a lot of alcohol in them! 😜) You’ve been busy doing more science experiments in the kitchen, Chris, & I couldn’t be more thrilled with your results. 👍🏻 Love the earrings, Ash, & yes-matter of fact, you are a cute little Guinea pig. 🐹😊

Someone will probably know why my heavy cream is curdling and not combining in?? First time I made this, it didn't happen like that but now it is.
@ChrisCookingNashville12 күн бұрын
Likely something wrong with your cream. Full fat heavy cream is actually very hard to curdle even if adding pure acid to it. Without being there to see your process I’m not sure.

Can this be made without SaltT? I have everything to make my own electrolytes but just haven't gotten around to it. THANKS!

Hey, I don't wanna get picky here, but when I started keto a few years ago, I remember reading that whiskey actually is keto. No carbs. Doesn't boost insulin. Not good for you, shouldn't do it - can interfere w/ weight loss - but it is keto, according to stuff I read several years ago. Now, while booze isn't carb/sugar, given that it can mess things up, we should avoid it. Amazingly, I've been mostly avoiding booze for a couple years now - birthday and New Years and a couple other days where I have a drink. I just don't want it anymore, which is weird and good. Anyway, did you find some info or expert who says whiskey really is not keto (and what I read was wrong)? Or did you mean it's not good on keto in a sort of indirect way? I'd be curious to know, thanks much. (of course sugar-added booze and beer are not keto - and some wine is not keto, as it has too much sugar - most wine has very little - and I don't wanna sound like I'm encouraging us to drink booze - I wouldn't do it - just being interested in the so-called science facts or w/e)
@ChrisCookingNashville2 ай бұрын
Any hard liquor doesn’t generally have much in terms of carbs, but alcohol has to prioritized metabolically before even carbs. It’s also scientifically a slow poison. So it may not be terribly prohibitive if used in small amounts but by definition no alcohol is really keto.
@johneubank85432 ай бұрын
@@ChrisCookingNashville I agree it's not good, and I wouldn't do it on keto - even if it's low to no carb. We turn it into something like acetaldehyde, which damages mitochondria. It's quickly turned into other things and used as energy, otherwise booze would be pretty deadly. I agree w/ "slow poison." But I'm not a total killjoy - will have a drink on an actual special occasion.
