Big help. Actually my check valve was ok. The plastic pipe it flowed into (above the needle) was completely plugged. I have fat fingers too. I had my daughter hold the unit upside down while I used tweezers and a screw driver to put the cover screws on. Big thanks!

Dat was the trick to get the water flowing! I also needed to clean that filter screen and replace the filter to get a full cup. Thank you! (It would've been a rough morning without that coffee. 🙂)

Thank you for the helpful video! But what fixed it for me was holding down "auto off" and the three cup size buttons at the same time for a couple seconds. Took the whole thing apart and stripped the tiny screws for no reason! But this video was still very helpful especially if the machine is clogged.

I took it apart as well per his instructions but still had the blinking lights. I've had this same model for 10+yrs so I'm sure it helped.☝️ It only started to brew the Keurig descaling solution after holding down all "4" buttons as you mentioned. Thanks so much for sharing.

Hey man thanks, I’ve watched way too many ways to fix my Kiureg. Mine is the platinum model but I’m certain that they all operate on the same principle. Your video is the second to last stop on my way to developing my very own kuerig fix! Lol Lots of circuits and crap in the platinum, I’m beginning to believe it’s the circuit board. But...if your suggestion works... well then you’ve helped save the life of a coffee machine and the patience of it’s owner. Thanks for keeping it simple man , and thanks to your kid for helping out. Excellent solution, worked like a champ! Another video (which I'm sure worked for some people) just said to squeeze the check valve. That didn't work, but disconnecting it and blowing it out (plus squeezing it around) absolutely did the trick. Thanks!

My Keurig 50 classic was blinking the heat, add water, and medium cup button was flashing and would not do anything. Tried many of the remedies on KZbin to no avail. This one led me to what I believe was the culprit. I checked all of the hoses and the check valve with them having no issue. However, with safety in mind, (unplugged) I purged the water through the system. Looking at the operation of the lever assembly, the circuit switch (tells the computer that the assembly is closed) did not seem to be clicking. I exercised the switch until there was an audible click. Loosened and re positioned slightly and re secured it into position. Plugged it in and the system worked like new. Ran about 30 brews through it without a problem and the brewed a K-Cup without problem. Reassembled and is currently working well. The switch I mentioned above is directly to the right of the check valve in this video. My switch is white but the one in this video is black and has two wires and one connection without a wire. (you can clearly see the switch assembly in this video at 3:55 on the time line). Hope this helps

So far so good. The valve did not seam to be stuck. I was able to take a wooden skewer and gently push down on the intake side of the valve, it seemed to operate freely. Regardless, I gave it a vinegar bath as suggested, reassembled the fittings, presto, fixo, works like a hot dang!. Thanks to you, your helper and your wife for getting you to make the video. Cheers!

Coffee grounds get into that check valve area and clog things up. How to prevent that? Press the K-Cup down onto the bottom needle with both thumbs, and then close the lid, which inserts the top needle into the K-Cup. If you use this method, the coffee grounds will NEVER blow up into the check valve. Ever.

Save yourself from the headaches and buy a tried and true bunn coffee pot. They last a very long time especially if your lucky enough to get a little bit older one which in my opinion are built better than the newer ones

I watched this video and then went through the disassembly as instructed, cleaned with vinegar, etc. However, this procedure did not work and I discovered the machine produced the same results: flashing lights. Once before I had indeed blown air through the hole underneath the water reservoir and it had worked. So I tried that again and the machine now brews coffee as it should. I use the same pump we use to fill air mattresses. It blew out steam and water alternately. This seems to purge the system in some way.

The screws are stripped so I can't access the water tube and check valve. Only had this a few months and never opened it b4 which means they were stripped on assembly which means I am screwed, so to speak. Excellent video, though!

If your screws are stripped take a rubber band and put it between the screwdriver and the screw it grips it and breaks it loose.

On mine, the lights do not blink when it comes on. They will stay solid until I lift the lid and close it again, then when it blinks I hit the cup button and it then works. Should the lights blink initially when I first put the coffee in?

That is normal operation. The lights I had where an error.

We have gone thru 3 of these machines - they last from 1 to 2 years. Keurig gave us a replacement free on one of them, then I gave up until my boy gave us a new one. I have same model as you demo - you are right "chinese crap". I'll let you know if this works on mine. How did you figure this out?

I took it apart. And traced the water lines to that restriction. It would put out water on the incoming but not through the check valve itself.

I"m not too bad at taking things apart and fixing, I work construction....I guess I just don't like these plastic wonders with computer circuits etc. So anyway I followed your instructions and pulled out the ck valve. It was maybe a little sticky but was not fully blocked. ran white vinager thru it, put back together (what a pain), did not solve problem. Called Keurig and they're sending a replacement free.....wtfreak? How much profit do they make on these things that they can send out free replacements......what a world we got going......So I tried. Wished it worked so thanks for at least trying something! thanks again.
