Keurig Cafe *Brand New* Not working - How to fix it

I got my wife a new Keurig Cafe for Christmas. When I took it out of the box and started the set up process, it did not work. I could hear the water pump running, but after a minute or two it would shut off. I found a video on KZbin on how to shut off the auto-off feature, but it still would not stay on. I found another video on how to get to the pressure relief valve in the top of a different Keurig that involved removing 2 screws under the lid. Since this is a brand new unit I did not want to take anything apart and thought of another way to get water up and into the pressure relief valve.
I took a syringe from a turkey injector and used a 1/4” spade bit to make a bigger opening. I filled the syringe with water, placed it to the tank input, turned on the Keurig, covered the overflow port, and forced water up and into the pressure relief valve. I heard the pump begin to make a different noise and the unit stayed on! I finished the set up process and was able to brew the first 6oz. cup of hot water.
Minutes later, my wife brewed her first latte and said it tasted great!
I hope my fix helps anyone else who may have encountered this problem.

Yes, it’s working…thanks a lot!! Great quick fix…I almost tear it a part per the other KZbin video. Don’t get me wrong…they are expert, but my Keurig was not the same issue as they had…thanks again!!

You’re welcome! I wanted a solution that was less intrusive that did not involve taking it a part. I didn’t want to void the warranty 5 minutes after taking out of the box.

I've got one of these it turns on, heats up and I select a size and click the middle button but it won't brew. Then after about 1 min it shuts off? Any ideas.

It does not move any water through the machine? Did you try what I did in my video?

@@westallica5150 I don't have a syringe I tried a turkey baster but that did nothing. No when I plug it in sometimes the auto off light Flashes quickly and won't turn on

Hi. Do you have a problem when not in use, water drips onto the drip tray every now and then ? Not alot , just a little. I'm guessing maybe it does that to clean the lines ? Thx.
