This is our second K-Classic. We had our first one for many years, so when we had to replace it, we wanted nothing else but this exact kzbin.infoUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf model. We use it for about three people everyday in the morning. The taste and quick brew is one of the reasons we like it so much. There are so many choices of brands of coffee that we would grab what was on sale and test the different brands from there. I would definitely recommend trying different brands of coffee to find the ones you like the most because there are brands that quite frankly taste horrible.

Finally someone with ingenuity and common sense! Thank you for this helpful video. I am going to dismantle my Keurig this evening as I noticed it leaking. I suspect that the culprit will either be this solenoid or the check valve. I'm hoping for the solenoid as in reading I see that the check valve is proprietary in design and a replacement isn't open sold or even sold by Keurig.

I still remember clearly what I needed to do to get my Keurig model B70 apart. My machine (the one in the video) is held together with screws that are of the "Phillips" type, About 6 or so black plastic tabs as well. I'll get to that! After unplugging the unit from the wall, I first removed the brew lever, and the small black plastic cover over where the K cups go in (all held by screws). Then I slid out the lower cup tray and put it aside. I then flipped the unit upside down to access the bottom cover. I removed the screws, removed the cover, then I removed every Phillips screw holding the lower black plastic case together including any hold downs for tubes or pump lines. Once that was done, then came the tricky part. The entire black outer plastic cover is actually hooked in by 6 or so plastic hooks into the top silver part of the machine. These hooks are all around the upper inside perimeter of the cover (when the machine is upside down, it is at the bottom). THEY ARE HARD TO SEE!. I used a long skinny flat head screw driver with a flashlight looking downward to see to "unclip/disengage one by one" each tab around the perimeter of the cover. Once each one was disengaged, the entire cover was able to slide off, revealing every component in the machine. That's it. After doing the repairs, I carefully slid the lower cover back on until it "clicked in", then I put all the screws back in and plugged it in. It is still working fine today (4 years after doing the actual repair,and 2 years after making this video).

I've got a K70 w the same problem. I'm considering trying this myself or see what the repair guy would charge. Imo the newer machines are crap and break within 18 months so if I can fix this I'd rather keep it than replace. U did a great job w urs...congrats and ty for the inspiration!

Those metal encased valve solenoids are, more or less, obsolete parts in that they were replaced with blue valve solenoids by Ceme; part no. 5000EN1. But, those solenoids have their own problems, too. They use a closing spring which becomes brittle and eventually breaks. The fragments can jam the valve piston.

Nice job Mr. Morgan. I think i learned enough to fix the broken machine at work now. Thank you very much.

Thank you Tom. Hopefully people will get some good useful information from our videos. These machines are piling up on the curb everywhere. If only people knew...

Great video on the Keurig B70. My question is how did you connect the 15 amp switch to the Keurig B70 ? Thank you
@mysimplefix10 жыл бұрын
Thanks! First, of course unplug the machine. I needed to turn the machine upside down and remove the lower metal cover. Then I measured the area and determined an acceptable location for the switch. There is very little room in there even with the plastic removed for the switch. To make room for the switch, I used a soldering iron with a small tip to push my way into the plastic "slowly". Messy, but it worked. As the plastic blobs cooled, I filed away the cold black plastic blobs easily, and made a slot for the switch with enough room to accommodate the wiring. Because my switch is "lit up" I needed to make 3 connections. The three wires coming into the machine are black (120 volt), white (neutral "0" vokt), and green (ground). I cut the black wire, put on a connector and plugged the "black in" to the switch. I connected the new "black out" black to the machine power input, and I spliced the white wire to the third terminal of the switch so it will "light up" when the switch is powered up.

Do you need to just replace the solenoid that goes to the reservoir or both of them? I'm ordering a replacement part for mine and I'm not sure whether to get one or two.
@mysimplefix10 жыл бұрын
For mine, I just replaced the one solenoid. It was the one connected to the rust stained tubes. They are cheap, so replacing both wouldn't hurt since you are in there. My machine is still working well with no problems whatsoever.

Great video. i;m sure I have a pump issue as well, but I'm also seeing error on my display. The cup size indicator switched from medium to large. When it switches cup size, it doesn't pump any water. I'm pretty sure the pump would not cause this issue or maybe it would. Any thoughts on this?

Just wanted to let you know that because of your KZbin video, I replaced the same solenoid in my Keurig B40 and it's working now. No more half cups for me. Thanks a lot! The machine was a pain to take apart but an extra solenoid was only $10 off of eBay.

That's good to know! I'm glad it worked you, and thanks for posting this information.

Hello everyone. I had this problem and had a simpler fix. I took my B77 back to Bed, Bath and Beyond and they exchanged it for a B75 no questions asked other than what's wrong with it? Since there was a sales promotion on I also got a free Ice Tea mug and a carton of Snapple diet peach tea! BTW: No box, no receipt, no problem!

is this the fix to the "burping it" remedy?
@mysimplefix11 жыл бұрын
Yes, I believe this fix is a permanent fix. The burping method, simply free's up those loose plastic fragments that are within the broken up solenoid.

If You Want You're Kuerig B70 to last more than a Year,Unplug it after every Use,It takes about 3 minutes when first Plugged in to make 192* water for a perfect Cup of Coffee..( I Like the next to last Setting)..There is no simple fix for this paticular Model if you keep it plugged in...Maybe they solved the Problem Now..I would check the internet for reviews on any new Kuerig Coffee Maker....!..Thanks,Mysimplefix!

So that explains why hitting the area near the solenoid got it to give me full cups, it broke up the dam rust, YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD USE STAINLESS STEEL PARTS WHERE THERE'S WATER, i guess it time to take a visit to my town dump and look for spare Keurig coffee machines, just for parts
@mysimplefix11 жыл бұрын
You've got it!
@kellsarah10 жыл бұрын
NORTHCALEDON A permanent fix would be to find a replacement solenoid that is rated for wet use. The solenoid that fails is used to keep the water pump primed, so it will always get wet and corrode. The other solenoid in the machine is just used to release air from the boiler as it is being filled.
@Watcher322310 жыл бұрын
The problem with stainless steel, particularly the kind that won't readily rust and would be suitable for food and beverage appliances, is that it's not magnetic. The parts must be able to respond to an electromagnetic field, or the absence thereof, in order to open and close. If they can't, then what's the point? IMO, they really should have stuck with valves actuated by external servos instead of using these valve solenoids.
