So many Dip Stick comments from so many Dip Stick user, I moved on to an EV, which after 40 years of driving has proven to be the best thing ever! The money I have save on fuel alone is staggering let alone, NO service parts, like exhaust pipes, alternator and timing belts, Oil and filters or spark plugs or glow plugs, not to mention endless pipes. Anyone of the pipes and belts can fail destroy the engine. I can see why the Oil industry made sure combustion cars won over EV back in the old days, its a money making racket.

I've personally only utilize when they come in various size's and referred to as soft, medium and hard tooth brush's a child's soft tooth brush. Though never ever in an agresive manner, simply insert the softer child's bristle's compared to that of an adult soft bristle's, wiggle back and forth a bit, remove, blow, rinse and reapeat until clean. Total time, perhaps a minute.

Alternatively you can use a hair dryer on low or medium fan and cool air mode. It works just as well.

The C is male type of pins. Lightning is female type. Micro USB A has the most but micro A with B does not have many. For Samsung Galaxy S5, it has micro A with B and it has charger USB cap for protection. I stay using Samsung Galaxy S5 to use charging cap to protect not to get moisture dust and debris get in and it shows when I disconnect the micro A with B USB cable it shows close the cap. When it is not responding to charge, you need to look at the micro USB, lightning, C pins. When you see nothing from the pins, then it works properly. I also close all my devices using charger cap to stay protected firmly.

The real problem is the clock electrical design where the car 12 volt is stepped down using these resistors to power the clock. If you have a chance, try touching these resistors while the clock is ON. They will burn your fingers. Over time the solder joints will crack again from temperature cycling resistors getting red hot when car is driven and cold when car is parked. The only way to permanently fix the problem is by using a wire for mechanical stress relief from hot and cold cycles. I had all these resistor soldered standing up and use wires to connect to the resistors top terminals. (be sure to cut away some part of the plastic back cover to let the resistors stick out) It will save other components on the PCB from excessive heat too (as mention in a post where a diode also gotten bad). My 2005 corolla clock is still working perfectly up to this year 2024. I probably modified them 10 years ago ...

Great walk through! I was curious about the purple fan wire that connects to Common. Directions dont mention anything about it and doesnt show it, so I assume it stays, but wondered if it should be moved to the contactor.
@mysimplefix
@mysimplefix Ай бұрын
On my setup, I did not move the purple wire to the contactor. The red wire from T2 of the contactor on mine runs straight to the common terminal on the capacitor. Effectively, it is the same thing.

@@mysimplefix Thanks! Installed yesterday, but my supplied red wire as 8 AWG and my yellow (12-10 AWG) spade would not fit. I'm guessing its because I have model16-32. "Proper" 8 AWG connectors would not fit, so I kind of had to create my own. Wish the would have supplied a connector. In the end, it dramatically decreased my starting amps!

Hi, My laptop Asus Rog Strix g15 ryzen 7 have 512gb installed ssd and I want to upgrade to 1tb. Which is better option for installation 1. 512 GB as primary and 1 tb as secondary. or 2. 1 tb primary and 512 GB as secondary
@mysimplefix
@mysimplefix 3 ай бұрын
Option 2, where you use the 1 TB as the primary drive and the 512 GB as secondary, would generally be the better choice, as theres more storage for the primary drive for your operating system and main applications, which benefit from more available space for better performance. Having 1 TB for this ensures you have plenty of room for growth. 2. Performance: Larger SSDs often have better write performance and endurance than smaller ones. Using the 1 TB as your primary will take better advantage of this. You can use the 512 GB as secondary storage for files, games, or less critical applications.

Here in 2024. The same issue applies to the audio-out mini-jack such as for headphones etc on smartphones & other devices. I have experienced this personally. The phone jack is deep enough to the point that lint can also accumulate & compress inside the phone jack & can make your headphones not fully plug inside & bounce out. I use a sewing pin to gouge out the lint & dirt, as long as you are not too aggressive with it. I have seen balls of lint come out using the pin. Once done, then my headphones plugs back in normally again. Additionally after, I spray electronic contact cleaner inside the small usb port & the headphone jack to help further chemically clean the metal signal contacts/pins. Just be careful & not short out your electronics. Turn off your smartphone first when you spray just to be safe. You can also do the same with the bigger USB-A ports on computers. Again, be careful, turn off your electronic machines, then spray a little bit & then wait for the liquid to evaporate & dry out, which can be several seconds later, because I too am not responsible for your damage, heh. Examples of contact cleaner that contain Isohexane include ... CRC # 05103 QD Electronic Cleaner, or Radio Shack # 640-4345 Cleaner (now defunct but I still have a full can left), or Berryman # 2206 Electronic Cleaner. 09/12/24

This crazy yet simple idea seems to be working for many people! Use only 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, and just a few drops of water to make it wet. A small batch is all you'll need! Put into the microwave for 5 seconds, then stir with a spoon until clear. That's it!

@@mysimplefix to make a long story short, my wife and I bought a 1990 Ford Econoline van to camp in. The thing is pretty mint but has a little bit of a rear main seal leak. We drove it over 1500 miles the weekend I commented on this. We took it all through Yellowstone and grand Tetons national Park. I had just gotten the oil changed in it and couldn’t tell where the level was at so this video came in handy. Thanks again.!!

@mysimplefix 2 ай бұрын
@@KevinBruceRoy316 Yes, those Econolines have a pretty long dip stick yes! Do you have the 5.8 L (351 cid), or the big 7.5 L (460 cid) in that van? The reason I ask, is especially with the bigger engine, make sure your air filter is clean (with a reasonably new fuel filter). Those things suck a ridiculously large amount of air into them, and the air filter is relatively small (especially when you're climbing over large hills and terrain)! I've seen those air filters plug up quickly back in the day. I hope you had a great trip, and I want to thank you for the nice comments. Cheers!
