Man, this song is amazing. The beat is very mesmerizing, the lyrics are deep and sweet. This song made realize I made a mistake by breaking up with my girl. We were separated for 4 months. I played this song and started crying my eyes out. By the grace of God I was able to get her back. I’m so happy.

Same. But still wouldn't be as perfect as it is without the lyrics. Feels like they were written in about five minutes with the utmost sincerity. That's why it feels perfect

I just noticed that Spotify no longer has the lyrics version of this song, only the instrumental. As beautiful as the instrumental is, the lyrics of this song bring another level of depth and emotion.

This was my track 10 years ago. I loved Kev’s masterful arrangements and that bass line resonates real deep - it was chill. It’s only now that I understand what Kev puts out in his lyrics as i’ve lived a decade since... Respect to the man himself for putting down a classic that will always stay real - masterpiece

You know how one can percieve the music they listen to, as the soundtrack of their life.... So I heard this joint before I ever heard a girlfriend and I loved and savoured the vibe from it . When I got my girl, I still loved the song but I never wanted to live in the lyrics of the song; it's kinda like limiting how much I enjoyed the song just because I didn't want to experience the reality of things within the song. Now she's no longer with me and maaaannnn!!! the song is realler than ever! That's how music's supposed to make you feel. "Lovely" Hip Hop right here.

I can't remember how but I was hip to this early on, ran across it somewhere, forgotten now, not important. I heard this song and said "fuck it" immediately went out and bought the CD on the strength of this song alone, and no regrets. Dude hit the cover off with this record, whole thing is rock solid. And it's important to note, when this dropped hip hop was in a decline, there were some really lean years, older heads were always digging, looking for the next big thing, anything. We did our 40 days in the desert, faced hard times and temptations, albums like this kept us going, a hope that better days lie ahead. I was always super down with well arranged instrumental hip hop which is why I love P.R. A point came where I had to make a compilation CD, known artists: Common, Nas, Biggie, Nicolay, etc. But the common denominator was the production, it had to be heavy, multi-layered hooks, complex, the music had to have equal billing with the lyrics. I ended up with a 17 track CD called ""Hook and Beats" and the cover was the famous image from "Jaws" with the giant shark coming straight up at the woman swimming, idea being you didn't know what was about to hit you. It was well received, lauded as insightful. I ran across that CD yesterday while cleaning some things out, dropped it into the home HiFi and it still holds up 15 years later. This Kev Brown track is on it, and it was such a solid choice, soon as it came on it was like an old friend had walked into the room. Took me back to another time. Today I was texting (haha, didn't exist in '05) with this girl, and she's pretty, and things seem to be going well, early stages but I have a good feeling. I asked her if she liked "Rap" and she said yeah, and then I said what about "Hip Hop" cause they're different, right? Right. She came back in the affirmative and so I hit her with this track and I felt really good about it. How cool is that? It's like hey, I think you're cool and I'm looking forward to getting to know you more so check this out. Yeah, setting the tone with a little Kev, imaging maybe a little "getting to know you slow dance" to it, we'll see. Thanks Kev, shit's a dope gift for all time. R.
