I left a comment on this video over a year ago saying how this was my go to song for doing school and life in general. I'm a month away from graduating highschool now. I know J Dilla's music way better now and I've learned so much since I left that original comment. This beat goes on forever. I'm finalizing so many things to graduate and close one chapter and start the next. I'm starting my career as an artist and J Dilla has become one of my main inspirations for living by my art. If you took the time to read this, thank you. Thank you J Dilla, I'll keep this one bumping forever, rest in power.

He really made magic, I remember being obsessed with this beat like 3 years ago to the point that I woke up with it and went to bed with it because it always made me feel good and calm physically and mentally. Coming back to this now after a long while not listening to it and it makes me feel the same good way it always made me feel, this just proves that Dilla made timeless magic, the beats are filled with soul and substance not just baps and noises being chopped up, it has meaning and that is something like life, it makes us feel the whole mystery of it without really knowing exactly what it is but it makes us feel good and happy.

Some tracks are music in its perfect representation of the craft, sonics and genre. I want to thank a man you all may know as DJ Mad Lynx, one of the final rap city host. That man introduced me to this type of hiphop in the mid 90's in Tampa. He came on the air at 11pm-3am Saturday Nights, WMNF 88.5, the show was called the Underground Railroad. At some point this became the theme/bumper music on the show. Great fuquin memories and times with my dual cassette player trying to make a mixtape for the week. Back to DIlla, his work transcended what everyone else did with the craft, it is insane how great this sounds and all of the different thoughts its invoking!

Has any one even noticed what’s going on in the background? Not all, but pretty much a good amount of James’ beats will have some unique sounds playing in the background. Once you sit N listen for quite some time you’ll begin to not even hear what’s obviously playing that keeps us all so in love with this beat & notice something new! Then I’ll be like “WHuuuTt”? Open my eyes & put my ears a little closer to the speaker or (turn up the volume) & it ain’t there no more? Which I know it is I’ve just realized that once I took my focus off it, it was practically back to sitting down for another 15-30 min to try and catch those sounds again lol

There's nothin' better than a Dilla beat! He had that special uniqueness and unquestionable talent which set him apart and immensely loved. Madlib's Beat Konducta volumes 5 & 6 contain some of Madlib's greatest beats and vibes, in my opinion.

This beat brings me back to a certain unspecific time and place in my life, or better a certain time-period. For me, it captures the feeling and memory of this time exactly, in some weird way. The smell of the winter in that time, the view from my window where I lived at. Funny how certain sounds have the ability to do this, isnt it?
