So, humans can't use magic you say? I need to be born half elf or elf you say? Screw basic Tales logic. I'm Klarth F Lester and with SCIENCE and RESEARCH I make the very foundations of Aselia my bitches.
Guy's got all my respect.
He's the definition of normal badass. There's no magical lineage, legendary weapon or anything of the sort. He just did his research specifically to show everyone humans could use magic; and he did!
He was the first and by far the best summoner in the series. I would say he's the only proper summoner but as of recently we got Pascal and Milla who actually use summons in fight unlike a certain clumsy ninja with a very unoriginal moveset.
In SFC he was actually the best mage end-game as Gremlin's Lair and Origin are the most powerful spells. PSX and beyond he's still good but kinda outclassed by Arche.

What I love about Gremlin Lair is that the more enemies on the screen, the more they spawn, and when you gather all of them up, you'll the combos instantly go up by a lot.

If Klarth doesn't get into Radiant 4 I will be supremely upset. I don't give a crap if Arche's' loadout is better, I always have Klarth on my endgame team. He's my favorite character from Phantasia, afterall.

I love that Klarth made it possible for a human to use magic. He rocks that much. A shame he tends to get overshadowed often throughout the series. And the hat man, how can anyone ignore such coolness?! D: I have to say Chameleon is an amusing summon if anything. And speaking of reptiles, what were those adorable critters you were summoning Aska on? :)

+Flegan777 Seriously. I love Klarth (I refuse to call him Claus) and the fact that this wasn't just luck, or fate or anything that the other summoners but he really worked his ass off. Even going so far as to tatoo his whole body. My only gripe is that as fit as he looks (cute) he needs at least something for offense.

This version of Fighting of the Spirit is great Not so over the top like those fan remixes, but still made awesome by the original composers. P.S. Klarth's Japanese voice summons more than just ninja dogs, nor does he need the Red Stone of Aja.

Tales of Phantasia X removing spell pause is a great idea, but, the execution is kinda clumsy, no? these spell hitboxes,good lord, look so... rushed.(To be honest, i think Namco original intent was remake ToP completely NDX style,like they did ToD, but, maybe they... quit?)

This is true, it's kinda clumsy really. I dont think they ever intended ToP to be a full remake beyond an updated port. Specially because they outsourced the development of ToPX to guys who did Tales of Wallbreaker in Tales of VS. The problem is probably the fact they had to force the removal of spell pause in a game that was built around it so they should have had, ideally, changed all hitboxes to fit appropiately. Instead it mostly uses the original hitboxes.

Gabriel Takeshi Castro Yeah, I know. I'm honestly not sure if it's the better version. Something definitely doesn't click right, it's much tougher for some reason. Fighting without Cless is certainly not recommended, because every version had him locked in position 1, so the games were naturally very Cless-centric. Good luck beating Lilith without all the red herbs on him, and good luck beating Pluto without him.

Jonathan BarSela Actually, the only version with Cress locked in slot 1 is the original SFC version. PSX/GBA/FVE/X all allow to take him out of the party if you really want.

you'd probably be sad to know that Gremlin's lair was degraded from best Summon to Worst in the fail Gameboy verision, besides Chameleon. It seemed to be going to do the same kind of animation that hte ones in PSX and PSP do, but each of the three gremlims only attack once for about the same amount of damage that the ones in PSX give for 1 hit., or less than that.

Only in Phantasia X you can learn it. Have Klarth learn all summons, control him and at low HP when "POWER" appears press X, O and square.
