From the beginning it was nothing like gta it was purely about gang culture not centered on crime...the first and second were the best but the graphics on the first were better and it came out after San Andreas and before gta 4 .. It was going for a good mix of realism and fun but got scared it would have to be compared to gta and they kept getting too wacky for me

There’s a multitude or reasons why people dislike this game. The reused map, the exact same copy pasted side activities, the new activities being boring, the “story”, the lack of new assets. I’d say it’s a perfectly rated game, fun for a few hours before it gets very; very repetitive. Also, that’s a bit of a stretch to say the unhappy reviews of the game are SR2 fans unhappy with its direction. SR2 although played by a lot wasn’t as big as 3 or 4. A lot of people had fresh takes on them. There’s reason people like 3 and not 4. And why the series has been put on ice since after the horrible gat out of hell

Fun fact: When they were developing this game, the play testers would actually go out of their way to avoid causing mayhem and injuring civilians. The devs had to reassure the players that these virtual characters were also virtual in the game world before people started playing the game as the devs intended :p

If you think about it the games had nothing really interesetring, the characters dont change, you never know anything from them that you didint know before and the story and gameplay dosent know where to go, like in saints row 2 aesha die and the next 5 second you need to cover in human **** houses to know what happen because you dont have respect, even if you are the boss of the gang, in the 3rd game viola changes from an enemy to an allie but outside of that you never speend time to know her or see her change. Then 4 and gat out of hell do the same things, but these game dosent take the story as something serious and are just there to justify you have fun. I cant see the good story everyone talks about that saints row have

One of the main weaknesses of 4 is how the main story is just a connection bit between batches of the side missions. :-/Another is (which it shares with 3) is how the city feels like all the same across the map, while 2 had rather distinct districts, with their own separate style.

Of course there's also the zombie voice, which was hilarious...

This may be an unpopular take, but I absolutely love this game. It’s still saints row silliness but has crazy superhero powers and sexy outfits for my female character. What’s not to love? It’s so quirky. And at only 12gb I keep it installed on PS4 at all times. It’s also super cheap by now. I strongly recommend this game. It’s the last REAL saints game

I liked SR4. What goes Heavily understated is you begin the game as the normal Saints. The Boss saves Earth and then trying to escape the explosion of the nuke he/ she safely detonates, falls into the Oval Office. That act is what they used to elect him/her President. It was a fun conclusion to the story of the Boss. He/She goes from innocent bystander in a drive by, to the leader of humanity 🤷🏿‍♂️.
