Definitely overlooked, along with The Sound. Thanks.

Thanks for this...been a Comsat Angels fan since 1980...fascinating to hear about what was happening in the background. Glad that Kevin continues to be involved in music.

Thanks for watching. The Comsat Angels really deserve more respect and attention for their influence on post-punk. J

Thank you for doing this interview. I would love to hear each member of the band interviewed in the same manner. The section that addresses the jump from Waiting for a Miracle to Sleep No More was overlooked in my opinion. Kevin sort of dismisses this LP because the band went "dark" even though he concedes music critics LOVED it. This LP was in fact the bridge between post-punk and Alternative as we know it. The band was touring with U2 the year before the release of Sleep No More. Just listen to U2's "Sort of a Homecoming" and you can HEAR the COMSAT'S influence. If you look back at the music landscape at that time, the Comsat's broke ground here by going the opposite direction of everyone else thus creating "Alternative Rock." In regards to the producer/Jive snafu, I wonder what producer would have been the perfect fit looking in hindsight. Sorry to hear of the breakdown btwn Kevin and Stephen. They were in the trenches but the rules and the path to profitability changed in real time. Legacy is still the one thing that will linger.

Hi, thank you so much for watching! I'd love to expand the channel to full band interviews, but I think it would be tricky with the Comsats given what Kevin said about their relationship nowadays. Yes, I think he perhaps undersold how crucial that period was, if only because they were so hyped at that time. My Dad saw them in the pre-Sleep No More era with several support bands who would go on to be massive. Sadly the Comsats got left behind, but the music speak for itself and has [mostly] aged very well because they stayed away from many of the cliched 80s production techniques. If you'd be interested in more content, please consider subscribing to the channel. :) Take care, J
