I actually do have a Waterworld fun fact that isn't the usual one! It has to do with the opening Universal Pictures thing. The animators working on it asked Universal to send them a model and Universal, completely misunderstanding what they meant, sent them the giant orb instead of the digital file on a disc.

Early days of CGI certainly wouldn't surprise me that computer words got lost in translation to their original meanings. Many of the boomers at the top probably never even used a computer in the early 90s.

So, fun story. Right before the run, we were chatting and getting all of the crudeness out of our systems before the start of the run. They threw it over to us without any warning, and if we didn't see it on the big screen, you would've heard some STUFF, lmao That's why we were laughing so much at the beginning. Awful block is fueled by chaos, and I wouldn't have it any other way

My brother was an extra in the movie. In the round fishing village place(which they really built in the ocean). He was just a guy in the background for like 2 seconds messing with some ropes. Everytime ive watched that movie i always yell "Theres my brother" when that scene happens lol.

"The most expensive movie ever made". It's currently the 19th if you adjust for inflation. However, only one film above it was made in the same decade (Titanic) so when it was made; it truly was the most expensive film in the world. I've never seen it nor know anything about it other than what is depicted here
@npiper14 күн бұрын
The movie is meh, it's a basic Jaded Loner discovers miracle child and grows a heart on his way to delivering her only to decide he doesn't belong in the peaceful world. so think Last of Us crossed with Mad Max and Fallout. Fun Fact there are no less than FOUR waterworld Stunt Shows that are all still running 30 years later.
@borstenpinsel13 күн бұрын
@@npiper yes, I always thought madmax and water world is the same just about different elements 😅
@npiper13 күн бұрын
@@borstenpinsel According to Wikipedia the movie was literally pitched as "Mad Max goes surfing"
@ColonelSandersLite12 күн бұрын
@@npiper Personally, I would say it's less than meh. I think it's just a pretty bad movie. Now, as it happens, I'm one of those oddballs that really enjoys bad movies so... I like it a lot more than anyone should. On another level, it was kind of one of the last big hurrahs for model driven practical effects guys. A lot of very talented artists did a lot of good work on that stuff. If you're into models and effects and stuff, you can really spend quite a bit of time dissecting various scenes in the movie.
