Skip is missing an important point. If Brooklyn doesn't work with KD on this trade request, and tries to play hard ball, then that will affect their chances of landing future free agents. There is a balancing act to an organization conducting its business while trying to maintain a good "player friendly" reputation and culture. Free agents will not want to sign with organizations that have bad reputations with player treatment. If Skip was the executive of a sports organization, with his overly tough attitude, would you be a free agent that would sign with his team and put yourself under contract to him and his organization? Why wouldn't kd sit out?..... He doesn't need the money. Don't think nets want a dude even going on the court giving 50% effort either.... That's worse than not trading him. Also the experts were saying suns were dumb for not offering ayton the max prior to kd saying he wants a trade... Now suddenly ayton isn't that good?... How does that work? Not saying ayton for kd straight up. But add as many first round picks as you can plus add cam Johnson and maybe Shamet or payne... Sorry but ayton is really good. And he hasn't even hit close to his peak. Dude can shoot too if given a chance. Think the nets are overlooking how good ayton can be. Especially if pared with Ben Simmons... Would be interesting that's for sure.

They can't trade KD to the Sun's at the moment because of the NBA'd rookie rule. They can on only acquire 1 player coming off a max Rookie extension and since they have Simmons, Booker or Bam or Wiggins can't be included at the moment.
