Honestly I just think that you really can't compare the two considering they played in basically different leagues. The NBA during Jordan's reign was brutal, physical, and filled with less talent and more team oriented defense but today the NBA is filled with a larger spectrum of talent, less physicality, and a much more flashy feel to it. As well as the fact that the NBA today is much more focused on offense. Very few teams today have overall amazing team defense.

Durant will never in his nba career get a defensive player of the year award like Michael, nor have the defensive IQ, Jordan averages .8 blocks on his career while KDs only at 1 per game career yet durants over 5 inches taller, mike averaged 2.3 steals pg while KDs at 1.3. michaels perimeter defense was like no one else besides pippen, KD can only guard the post better than Michael THATS IT. KDs a slightly above average defender.
