Ellison, if healthy, will be a force in the very near future for my Bolts. I think our secondary has been our biggest weakness for the longest. This, IMHO, is the step in the right direction to rectify this!

Having both Ellison and Mays next season, and then plus English, Phillips, and Merriman, and perhaps with others like Williams, Castillo, and Martin, and Jammer, I'd like to see a Body Bag game that's be reminiscent of the old ones that the Eagles laid waste to the other team back then.

It all depends on how Taylor Mays does in his last year at USC before entering the draft. As it is, we already have Weddle at FS and did a fine job, and was one of the leading tacklers of the team. Besides, I'm already looking ahead next year, thinking that we may need a new DE, like Jerry Hughes from TCU, or a new RB like Jahvid Best from CAL, or maybe a new OT. Or, a new ILB that can produce a lot of pressure for passing and run plays the middle on line AND do good pass coverage.

I don't know, I think Mays is the missing piece of the puzzle. He would be the ball hawk we've been missing and I hope that the Chargers feel the same way and find some way to get him. As far as the other positions, im fairly confident in DE, and ILB. Burnett could be a valuable pickup and Castillo and Cesaire can get it done at the 5 technique. RB and RT are major concerns, Clary is not a starting tackle and the RB situation is interesting to say the least, but i feel LT has 3 good years left.

Of course our coverage isn't very good. Making Ellison a starter would make it even worse. Weddle is a much better cover safety than Ellison, but Weddle isn't even that great at it. I wouldn't mind seeing Ellison in at ILB in coverage situations though. I think he would be perfect at that. I don't think he'll be a bad player in the NFL, but he definitely has to improve in coverage to become a solid NFL safety.

Cromartie needs to learn how to be more physical when going one on one and learn how to tackle better. It'll take more than just speed and athleticism to win. Maybe if Brandon Hughes were to come in at times and is actually successful with the bump and run, he could teach Cromartie a thing or two.
