From Collider.com: It’s worth noting that the scripture Matt quotes to Kevin is not actually in the Bible, it’s from the Gospel of Thomas, which is not part of Biblical canon (it’s one of many books that make up “The Gnostic Gospels”). He must really be into the Apocrypha or something. It's in Season 1, Episode 5 'Gladys' of the show.

Kevin’s jeans are so skinny, it looks goofy. Someone needs to tell the filthy urbanites that wrote this show that small town cops don’t dress like hipsters. And it’s also normal for people to own guns lol, no one would question it like they did in such a shocked way.
