I believe I saw a BTS of the graham Norton show and for some of the people he does just surprise them with stories. I think its good to understand that production is a thing that happens but to completely discount things based off cynicism is just as bad as being too naïve. Also this is a late night talk show which is just to have fun, if you don't enjoy it don't watch it on KZbin... the website where you pick what you wanna watch.

Also, yes most people are aware what they talk about is discussed ahead of time, but the exact way they talk, how they tell it, and commentary and jibes inside of the conversation are still normal. Celebrities just don’t want specific things mentioned usually, and hosts find topics they find amusing about the celebrity that they’re okay with sharing and then they make it amusing for the audience when they tell it. Show biz, buddy. Don’t worry, no one blames you for being so naive.

My husband was one of the SA crew members, & although he wasn't on set when this happened, he is one of those who would be quite nonchalant about a venemous spider (whereas I would be freaking out were it any spider). I'm a doctor, and have treated loads of spider bites. There have been no known deaths related to sac spider bites. Their venom is cytotoxic, but not considered lethal, although they can result in some rather serious wounds from the soft tissue damage

Sac Spiders (yes that is how it's spelled), family Clubionidae, can be found pretty much anywhere. There are a number of different species, and are generally regarded to be avoided, as the potency of venom is not widely known (species to species). There are some, however, that are known, to which she is alluding.
