My husband was one of the SA crew members, & although he wasn't on set when this happened, he is one of those who would be quite nonchalant about a venemous spider (whereas I would be freaking out were it any spider). I'm a doctor, and have treated loads of spider bites. There have been no known deaths related to sac spider bites. Their venom is cytotoxic, but not considered lethal, although they can result in some rather serious wounds from the soft tissue damage

Another arguably interesting tidbit: They are not called sac spiders because of their large abdomen, but simply because the spin sacs in which to retreat during resting periods.
