As far as racing rock stars, Harvick set that bar very high. As a fan, that last week was rough, knowing that it was his last race. It really set in that Monday of the Phoenix race. Saw the tik tok of the last trip of the 4 car hauler heading out……..just so many highlights and memories that week. Then, saw the interview when Kevin said there isn’t a next week (he stated it in more than one interview) and as a fan, that’s exactly what I was thinking before I even heard him say it. Thanks for the many memories, Kevin. 4Ever🥲

It tickled me to see both Dale Jr. & Mr. Harvick sportin' glasses and, not sunglasses. The kind of lenses that help our aging eyes to see. This past year I've made the switch to them myself. That's a wild transition for the dude that had sunglasses on his head 24/7/365 for 30 some years. Back in the day, i attended the Fall race at Rockingham in November of 01'. That was the first race I'd been to since Atlanta the previous Fall. The gentleman working Mr. Harvick's merchandise trailer handed me a Sharpie & told me I could write on it wherever I wished. I left a sincere note for Mr. Harvick there by the couplers for the brakes. My words were the only ones on that sheet of steel so, I'm still guessin' the driver of the rig read em'. Hopefully, he passed them along. Mr. Mike Davis, maybe this post will be read by your eyes too. I give much gratitude to you Sir for making me walk further on my journey. I told you on the phone back in November of 19' that I'd never quit workin' & tryin' to gain that Volume that can, shall, & will help so many suffering Veterans. Always keep your word. I really like what he Kevin was saying at the end there about making the drivers the stars that they should. That's one of the main things that's been missing over the last decade to decade and a half. The NASCAR brand and their 'playoff system' became the star of the show and it's cost the sport a lot of fans both those that left and those that would have been interested if they had a reason to be interested like the drivers and the competition. The suits completely lost sight of what's actually important. Hint: It's not them or their ideas. NASCAR needs "rock star" drivers that potential fans can identify with or feel some sort of way about. The drivers are the stars, not them and not their brand. Without the drivers and the fans that root for them, there is no NASCAR. Those suits need to recognize that and get their egos out of the way so that the sport can become what it should be. These guys are as good at what they do as any other professional athlete or any other racings series, like F1, and the public needs to know that, and it's NASCAR's job to find ways to show it. Promote the drivers first and the brand of NASCAR will benefit from it.
