Oldskool blueboy07 Brian Jacks was great. But his arms didn't often lock on the dips. And sliding his feet in socks and oil on the mat for the squat thrusts....we weren't impressed even back then. It all looked like cheating to me.
@Pulsonar3 ай бұрын
@@davidsanderson5918I remember that as a kid at the time. It wrankled me a lot, I always wanted my hero’s to do things fairly. But it was just crafty tactics on the dips and squat thrusts by the Judo expert. Clever sportsmen are like that, looking for the slightest tactical advantage or rule loop hole to exploit. Brian Jacks was no exception.

I was born in 84 but I vividly remember watching this as a kid on iplayer when it was still called VHS as all us people who weren't born at the time do, I'm sure. In his autobiography, that fella wrote that Keegan mistakenly wore the wrong sized hair that day. The fella went on to write that the heft of the hair contributed the infamous "wobble" referred to in the commentary and ultimately meant that Keegan would never have made it to the end of the circuit, even if he'd been alone on the track.

in 1976 liverpool just needed a draw away at wolves in the last game of the season to win the title. wolves scored early on and although liverpool were all over them they couldnt break them down. with less than 10 minutes to go and just as liverpool fans were preparing to have their hearts broken keegan does an `aguero` and scores the goal that wins the title. a week later he helps liverpool beat johan cruyffs barca in the semi final of the uefa cup and scores in both legs of the final v bruges
