Such a perfect ending for the show. Vader picks up the lightsaber, and at least, at the time, he sees how once again, someone he loves is dead. Realizing without words how he lost everything, he walks away, and the last shot shows the helmet of the valiant men he fought alongside, reminding us of the men the Empire forgot.

I mean the helmet doesn't symbolize Rex or anyone else. It's the symbol of the end of an era, that you were watching since 2008. The music, the scene, the mirror image about Vader walking away are all representing the beggining of a new, painful era, where our heroes aren't together anymore...

The war is over! Only one hope remains, but it will be 19 years until it takes places. All the effort put in by the Republic was for nothing, the separatists nothing. The clones, who grew to trust and love the Jedi, who saw them as equals and as brothers and sisters, who fought and died with them forced to betray them against their will and they didn’t even know what they were doing or why. Now serving the Sith, an enemy they took an oath to fight against only to be thrown out after they were forced to kill their best friends. Few Jedi are left. Few clones escaped their treacherous fate! In the snow a half buried helmet stands out. It symbolizes the death of the republic. A war fought in vain is over! No one won. It was all a trap created by the Sith. The chosen one is lost. But he will return. He will make it all right. He will make the clone wars worth it.

The Clones knew why they were doing it. To their knowledge (including the brain chip overpowering their regular mental processes) the Jedi were traitors to the Republic.

The Clone Wars was the beginning of the Sith's reformation, and it has been completed, in result of a new Empire, and fall of the Jedi Order, causing the Chosen One to betray the Light Side. However, The Chosen One was a slave his whole life, slaved by Watto, slaved by the Jedis, and slaved by the Siths. Finally, at the end of his life, his son, Luke, freed him. The War is only the beginning, and it never ends, even when no one's fighting, it always begins, even for minor reasons. The Clone Wars was only the Beginning.

The thing that really affects me is even the credits theme which perfectly transitions from the last scene is so bleak and hopeless. Not the usual happy credits we're accustomed to.
