Always loved this ambience, not only for the nostalgia. It has become synonymous with SCP for obvious reasons, but personally I've always associated it more to some kind of cosmic horror entity such as Slenderman, I think it perfectly fits the character's mysterious and otherworldy presence.

Short story: You are in your room watching your phone, when you start to hear noises from downstairs, you are about to call out to your mom but realize that your home alone, afraid you hide under your bed while calling your mother, telling her the situation, she tells you to call the police as she rushes home, as your on the phone with police you hear the front door open and close, when police arrive they find the house a mess and the mom discovers that some things have been taken, they come to the conclusion that someone broke into the house to rob it not knowing someone was inside and left once they were done, you then wonder on what would have happened if the robber came into you room, what would he have done.

A Variation: afraid you hide under your bed while calling your mother... you then realize you don't have your phone, you forgot to take it to bed with you, and you have to go find it. carefully and quietly leaving your room, you search for it and when you do find it, the noises downstairs have stopped. Relieved, you hide under your bed just in case. calling your mother, and then the police. They will be there soon to investigate the house. your mom comes home last and is relieved that you are alright, noticing some items have disappeared, they dont matter, they were only knick knacks. As it gets late, you go to bed in your room, and after a couple of hours, you decide to go to bed. Then you hear a creak come from the corner of your room where your closet is, and as you look at the door oppening slowly, a pale, sweaty face stares back at you.
