It's 2023 and I still say "That's Not Right" in Kevin's voice to certain situations. My daughter finally asked me where I got that from and It sent me on Kevin Meaney binge. What a talent.

This man got me through junior high. I stole half his jokes. As a fat girl, I survived by using humor. Honestly, I think I would have cried through junior high instead of laughed. Cheesecake boats, y'all. Saved my life, this man did. Then when I was 30ish, I had to listen and sing to "I don't caaarrrrre" to get through one of the worst jobs of my life. He'll never know how often he saved me. Eff you, 2016, you took everyone awesome.

There's probably 2 types of girls that if I witnessed it, I wouldn't leave em alone til they went on a date with me: The 1st one will never happen, and that is if they were wearing this one piece skirt, cleavage to thighs (i dont know what you girls call it), but it had a full print faux poster for the faux movie "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down," which I only saw once as something to purchase on Etsy. The 2nd, still unlikely but more than that impossible one up there, would be if u overheard her singing the I DONT CARE SONG, which I've been doing for almost 4 decades now Always keep ur humor, or stay yourself, and always show em all that we don't care, by busting out as much of the I don't care lyrics as u can (til someone inevitably says OH SHUT UP... those are the bad people of the world 😅)

The first time I saw that guy on TV, probably '85 or '86, my mom and I laughed so hard we had asthma attacks. If you have asthma, you know what I mean. Even to this day, his routines break me up. When I was in the Army, I had a few buddies with whom I'd rattle off Kevin Meaney jokes at random. Man, Gene Wilder just died a couple months ago, and now Kevin Meaney. The world just becomes a darker place all the damn time, it seems. May you be splitting their sides in Heaven, Kevin. Thanks for so many killer laughs.

Was just listening to a Louis CK interview where he mentioned Kevin Meaney met an 18 year old Louis working at a video store. Told Kevin he was trying standup but bombed the 1st two open mic nights. Kevin said to effect of, "Come do one of my shows. Who cares if you bomb, that makes the show even better." Louis bombed but it gave him the courage to keep trying something he loved. You could tell Meaney was that type of guy, purely positive, supportive, incredible energy, loves to perform, and hilarious. Just looked him up after so many years and so sad to see he passed away at only 60 😢 RIP and thanks for the laughs. You helped so many people

It's funny to me that I've heard comedians trying to figure out who started so many bits that other comedians use onstage and they spout their theories and most have not yet discovered that it was in fact Kevin Meaney. One bit being commentary on your bits as another character usually a parent. This guy is one of the true originators and geniuses of stand up comedy. That "I don't care" song I will never get sick of.

And then i either get "wtf was THAT???," and ill give em an immediate "HEDOESNOTCARE!!" Either way, im laughing, and they're looking at me like..... "YOU'RE LIKE A CRAZY PERSON! Runnin around, singing 'I DONT CARE' songs...." 🍻 to another 38 years of doing that exact thing til the day i take MORE than an eye out and kick the bucket

My wife and I saw him in the early 90s at the Punchline in Atlanta. We were already familiar with his material. I know some people don't get him, but I was ready to call for an ambulance after about 30 minutes, because I just couldn't breathe anymore. His style starts getting a chuckle, and then he just builds on it and keeps going. He stood near the door and talked to folks as they were filing out. Nice guy, too. Any time one of us is going to the store, we still shout out, "I'm going to the store for some goat's milk. Does anybody NEED anything!!???"
