Most profound speech in the whole National Conservatism Conference indeed! The straightforwardness of being American is so different from all the nuances and twist and turns of British speeches. Cutting directly into pus of all the British liberal movements within the Tory government no doubt. Hope the Conservative Party will truly drain their pus clean from all the wounds to become liberals.

sadly, the Conservative Party lack the political will to implement the policies which need to be enacted for fear of poor publicity amongst a duplicitous media. We need a leader, who, like Thatcher, is not for turning.

Europe (Western Europe at least) is done for. Most of the countries within the bloc have anaemic economic growth, high unemployment, death bed demography coupled with an aging population, an unsustainable welfare state, and huge social problems, brought on by immigration.

It's moving to hear an American acknowledge the inheritance from Britain. Not much evident in their education system's take on history taught to kids.

Wow. Can we get a transcript of this? How can we embody these messages and carry them with us?

The two American speakers were outstanding in their intellect, eloquence and coherent passion. The MAGA movement fills me with dread because they lack truth and intellect. But the two US conservative speakers demonstrated what the Conservatives can be in the west by reminding us of the things that matter: culture, family, duty and quality of life which respects people more than profits. A joy to listen to.

'It's enemies call it frightening'. Yes, you have got me there, I do indeed think that Donald Trump is frightening in the threat that he and his supporters pose to democracy in the USA.

Yeah lord snodgrass wanting freedom and everything good for America and it’s people makes us a scary bunch.if the crooks aren’t (democrats and republicans)run out of our government,we are doomed to be another communist country.

Worrying that Trump is mentioned with approval. Allying yourself with a serial liar rather undermines your claims to integrity.
Not really that simple though is it. Hitler hardly confined his ambitions to within German national borders, rather an imperialist march urged on by Hitlers interpretations of biological membership. As for the Soviet Union, well that march is not over yet is it. The EU strives to expand its ethical reich even further and we see today in traditionally conservative nations member states the kind of resistance that is being felt. It's all very complex and unmanagable.

@@aldebaran9255 Well let's take the USA - they invaded and directly murdered tens of thousands of civilians in Vietnam, tens or maybe hundreds of thousands in Iraq, thousands in Afghanistan - and not because they posed a risk, but simply because their beliefs differed from that of the State Department. I could go on.
