Kevin Spacey 'humbled' by not guilty verdict at sexual assault trial

The Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey said he was "humbled" by the outcome of his trial, after he was cleared of sexually assaulting four men.

Mr Spacey wiped tears from his eyes as the verdicts were read out, embracing his legal team and mouthing "thank you" to the jury at Southwark Crown Court.
He had described the allegations against him as "madness" and a "stab in the back", calling Sir Elton John and David Furnish as witnesses in his defence.

Bit of an exaggeration. There were 20 allegations, 15 accusers and 9 charges filed. Considering a decade has gone by, 3 people dying is not special. The silence window was also closed already, meaning those accusers had their statements, evidence, depositions and accounts all on the record before their deaths. Typically you want to silence someone before all the evidence goes on record. It’s kinda like still lying about theft AFTER being shown the surveillance video of the theft in court. There is no point. He would still be liable for the crimes, the damages and financial restitution either way, while serving even more jail time. Retaliation on victims while under investigation, but less than 20% of them, and not the worst ones what could have easily added up to over a life sentence? Nah. You’re twisting theories to suit theories. This was a good investigation and it was taken seriously. It just turned out to be an Amber Heard case. In the messy wake of the me too movement, people and the media butcher the accused before they’ve had their chance in court. And people like you want it to turn out sinister, gruesome and kinky because entertainment holds more value to you than justice.

There was exonerating evidence presented at trial, proving Kevin physically "couldn't" have committed the false allegations levelled at him by one accuser. He wasn't even in the same country as the accuser, at the alleged time ... backed up by Elton John testifying in his defense that he didn't attend the party in the year claimed - and further evidence demonstrating Kevin was filming a role in Australia at the time. The UK prosecutors have questions to answer, for shamefully pursuing an innocent man with zero credible evidence. I didn't think it was proportional to take this to court after so many years. There should be a time limit. There should be anonymity for defendants too - we're essentially dealing with two conflicting accounts of incidences. It can't be right that someone cannot work for 6 years simply because someone claims they were touched up a decade ago. I do support the anonymity for complainants, but we must acknowledge that means that there is virtually no risk if one was to make a false accusation. It also means that it is harder for witnesses to come forward who may have evidence that conflicts with the complainant. They should both be treated equally. And it seems there can be a financial motive to make a false allegation or exaggerate. I'm not speculating on the motives of individuals in this case - I wouldn't know - but it is a factor to consider.

It's really horrible to see how people who work in the limelight get dragged through the Sh*te, when it's all to do with a few usually entitled - therefore probably truly narcissistic - people who probably have no real proper talent, and so have to get kicks, and try and get money, out of honest artists. Literally, puke-worthy. I'm a dance teacher, and I literally live in fear of some parent or other making up some story about me mistreating their child, just because "they can", and they can get away with it when everyone is so hungry for scandals. However careful I am, you never know when some bright spark may decide to take it out on me, or any of my colleagues, just 'cause they're rubbish people underneath, maybe even inwardly envious to see people actually making a hard-earned living out of something they LOVE, instead of having to do a job they don't honestly enjoy.
