I've been fishing a "Ned" rig for 25 years. But we called it a "Clarence" rig. 90% of the time I fished it with a Berkeley slugo, 10% sinko. The slugo technique is by far the best! Great action and becomes a awesome search bait. Slugos are hard to find these days. Only used black slugos.

KVD is an unheralded part of the "Ned Rig" phenomenon. KVD is the one, after all, who gave Ned Kehde his first handful of Elaztech, Strike King Zeros, 5" baits that became cut in half.

Dude same here, i can not get a bite with a ned rig. Dropshot isnt much better, although have actually caught a few on it. Youd think for being 2 of what some would call the best finesse techniques, theyd be a bit more productive. Or i just suck. Thats possible.
@j.wildoutdoors84834 жыл бұрын
@@FreshAsFxck I dont think you suck, I think it's the rigs. Might work some places but some people also have confidence lures. I have mine that I know I'll hook up when I use them. Sometimes I feel like I dont give other things a fair try, but ned rigs i tried pretty hard. I also loose them like crazy on rocks and timber.
@FreshAsFxck4 жыл бұрын
We just gotta keep at it i suppose. Eventually it has to work. Shakey head is another one that i cant buy a bite with lol. Maybe im just doomed to be a 1 bait wonder forever with my senkos lol. In any case, its time to go fishin. Tight lines brother 🎣

@EternalAngler4 жыл бұрын
Fishing is a lot more complex than that, lol, there's a reason why an angler like KVD comes on top over and over again in a bass tournament. One of the best ways for a sport to progress is by having the best of the best to compete in tournaments, having sponsors and companies like Strike King, this is how new lures are developed. Pros like VanDam give guidance to a company like Strike King on developing a new lure like the 12XD and 8.0, believe it or not both of these bass lures work very effective on musky. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqCcg6qFhpVrisk I had a friend catch a 44" musky just the other week on the 8.0! bit.ly/2YXYAuq This is also how you stimulate a local fishing economy, bring more popularity to the sport, Michigan and the Great Lakes are a multi-billion dollar fishing economy due to pros like KVD and Kim Stricker, they're responsible for bringing cabelas, bass pro up to Michigan, along with the bassmaster tournaments. Not to mention, fishing was the only pro sport to still be Televised and allowed to be performed during the Corona Pandemic because of easily allowing athletes to social distance. So yeah, the advertisements are a lot more meaningful than you think to our Country and Countrymen! Have a friend that lives up in Iron River, he said all the fishing tackle is cleared out at all the Walmarts in the UP of Michigan... Fishing is the most constructive sport because anyone can do it, pro or amateur alike, take it as seriously as you want or just tie on a worm and hook to have some fun. Stimulate your Vitamin D levels from the sun to better deal with the virus and also get in healthy cardio when you're casting and walking, most constructive sport there is, you can take it how serious you want to, it's up to the individual...
@smoothhead88044 жыл бұрын
Eternal Angler I fish with all different types of lures. I experiment with different methods as well. But I don’t walk around with advertisements on myself like a walking commercial lol
@EternalAngler4 жыл бұрын
@@smoothhead8804 Hahaha, well again, that's you, more power to you! But someone has to pay for Kevin's boat gas, traveling from one bass lake to the next competing in tournaments... Look, I'm not much into tournament fishing either, but things are changing, even the Googan Squad got sponsored. If you were Jon B and a had chance to travel the world, enjoy doing what you love by wearing a company's logo, would you do it? I'm sure you would! I've watched plenty of documentaries where too much corporate influence can ruin a good thing, music industry is a prime example. But so far with fishing, I don't see anything wrong with advertisements, what I don't like is monopolies, money channeling to one source considering Bass Pro now owns Cabelas, gotta make room for the small mom and pop fishing shops!
