Great video breaking down how the greatest bass angler of all time runs his crankbaits. This video shows exactly how KVD became the best to ever do it, everything he does is so calculated and well thought out. Mentally, he's on a whole other planet than the rest of the other pros/anglers out today, his preparation and attention to detail is one of the biggest reasons he's the 🐐.

Ya I've seen this with him ! 100% right ! Exactly what it takes to be on top with anything you do ! He probably became this way from wanting to be on top .Just using his gear helps a lot the actions are unreal .

Gear ratio is not the only factor to IPTs. Spool diameter is key as is the amount of line on the spool at the time of cranking.

Geez those are freaking MASSIVE hooks! 😅 You're the pro but dude if you're throwing those around heavy timber, you're gonna snag a lot more
@garneroutlaw12 жыл бұрын
He's def not throwing that thing in heavy timber. More than likely he's fishing boulder piles under that bridge deflecting it off rocks.
@erniebrightfishing2 жыл бұрын
Definitely a rock related bait. The larger hooks helps it run deeper. So now a bait that's supposed to dive 5 ft out the box now goes 7 maybe 8 ft that's a whole different category, now you've turned a squarebill into a mid diver with a square deflecting bill instead of a spoon shaped digging bill. If you do hit bottom and it's muddy or silty or sandy instead of digging it's gonna deflect thus causing the reaction strike. And you've just done all this and nobody else can because they didn't know how to get this style bait to those depths. In bass fishing you've always gotta be thinking about the variables you can control because the number of ones you can't always outweigh you.
@DavidMccallister652 жыл бұрын
@@erniebrightfishing yeah I know that but it also reduces the buoyancy. It's always a give and take with plugs
@erniebrightfishing2 жыл бұрын
@@DavidMccallister65 I agree. I don't really need it to float though unless it gets snagged and I'm trying to pop it free. I want that sucker down there banging everything lol. Good point though. I actually switch out a lot of my jerkbait hooks for this reason too. So it truly suspends and doesn't rise. I've had many pro anglers tell me that they'd rather a bait slowly sink or truly suspend instead of floating back up. Idk just what I'm told and it seems to work for me.
@DavidMccallister652 жыл бұрын
@@erniebrightfishing for sure for sure about the jerkbaits. Alot of people don't realize that even the Megabass 110's don't all suspend out of the box. Most don't. I always want them suspending but usually I want them sinking ever so slightly. It also depends on the water temperature. They'll act totally different in the winter vs summer. You may have one tuned perfectly in the dead of winter but then it sinks like a rock in hot water.

KVD rod and real by Lews ?
@dustinwalker81524 жыл бұрын
Yes Lew's bought Strike King, or they're either owned by the same parent company. Not exactly sure how they're affiliated with each other, but they are. So a lot guys that were sponsored by Strike King left their rod and reel sponsors to go with Lews. Just makes it easier on them when doing shows, events, etc.
