I'm 72 and started my Travel/Cruise channel about 10 months ago. I thought I might have been too old to start a KZbin channel but I loved cruising and have been on many in my later years so I promised myself that I would continue to share my cruising experience. I am now trying to figure out different ways to make some money on this and find your videos very interesting. It's refreshing to see someone not pushing making tons of money in 2 weeks or so. I'm interested in your videos about making videos and different ways to make money on KZbin. Thank You.

You are spot on with all of your answers. After creating a video you can control the thumbnail, description, and end screens. Every video should have an end screen component. If I have a video that is not doing well I always check the click through rate after a month or so and if it is low I create a new thumbnail. Thanks for the helpful video.

1). I have embedding turned off due to licensing restrictions that won't allow me to show my content off platform. 2). I do use hashtags because KZbin wasn't picking up the searchable book titles in my video description or tags but they did pick up the searchable book titles as hashtags. I made a Community post on my channel with the analytics graph of the difference using hashtags made to my views from KZbin Search in 2024. It was a pretty significant increase in search traffic that was solely due to adding hashtags.

A thing with deciding which lens (forwards or selfie) to use on the camera for recording visuals of yourself.... I could be wrong but I think there are ways to show what your camera sees on an alternative screen. If this is true - then it may be possible to point the better aperture thing at yourself whilst glancing at a separate monitor (behind the camera) to check your position and lighting etc.
@KevinKolbe3 ай бұрын
As long as you have another monitor, you can. For me, I decide to jump thru fewer hoops for something that doesn't matter that much. That's just me.

First, I LOVE your channel & style. I learn a bunch just by watching you. No fluff, concise & clear instructions, etc. Keep it up! Have 3 questions... I was lucky enough to get monetized in about 5 months. But my views/watch time have fallen off a cliff after being monetized. So, I'm wondering... *Does having your main keyword really need to go at the beginning of one's title, or does it not really matter? *Do you believe in the method of finding & copying outlier videos, or is it better to just choose my own keywords to make content for if I know my niche well? *If my views/watch time have stunk recently, does KZbin hold that against me on new uploads by limiting my impressions, or is each upload completely independent like a random spin on a roulette wheel? Thanks!
@KevinKolbe3 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for your comment and questions. Here are some short answers: 1. Keywords. No I don't believe they do. Are they important. To some extent yes, but don't make it all about that and not anything about the viewer. 2. I believe in seeing what others are doing. Learning from them, how they do things, etc. Copying them? Nope. Be the best version of you, you can be. 3. Not at all. If they did, no one would be able to grow if they had a video do less than the last one. Plus, most grow over time. Keep creating!

Good content. I'm surprised no-one asked how necessary or unnecessary it is to always ask people to like and subscribe. I lean towards it is not necessary as people will do it automatically if they like your content.😄

Wasn't there a link to a book that was supposed to be in the description?
@Goat.HerderАй бұрын
Here's a couple of things on that. 1. It's an old concept and because it's still repeated in many videos, people almost become immune to the words. If your content is good and resonates with people they will both like and sub. 2. Video intros (the 3d text, logo, branding thing). They are literally pointless. Either just get straight to the point or show a short "hook" first. Most people want to see/hear what you're promising fairly quickly. Personally I skip pass the intros and like and sub requests.

Hi there Kevin, thank you so much for this! So helpful. I wanted to ask you as well...I'm a small channel here on KZbin and doing ok I guess, but I don't seem to quite understand how to do the tags for my videos very well? The ones when you are uploading the video and it asks you for optional tags that you want to put there in that box? I always just end up guessing what may work well, but I don't know what's the best strategy for getting correct tags. Also, how important are they in the end for the video being seen more? Is it crucial to get them right? I I feel like my videos are quite nice and my audience who already watch them say how they love my content so much, but I just don't feel like they get enough views somehow...I thought maybe tags might be an issue?? I would be so grateful for any advice you could give. Thank you! From Lika.
@KevinKolbe3 ай бұрын
The short answer - tags don't matter. At most, KZbin uses them for misspellings but they do nothing to add discoverability or views to your video. Not even sure I added any to this video come to think of it. Focus on the more important things like your topics and how you package your video. Enjoy the journey!

I have to watch several different tutorials and get a little bit out of different tutorials . So far , I can get an animated text but not the video behind it . But, my question is , in watching several different creators they mostly all have their own paid program . Would it be worthwhile to pay for 2 or 3 different programs ? Or would it tend to be confusing with the different styles of teaching ?

I’m 62. I’ve been trying to do KZbin content gaming playing guitar singing telling stories doing AI videos stories with AI videos since 2014. I’m not getting anywhere. Sure need your help man if you got time no big deal. I understand it’s a lot to juggle, but I like your stuff, you got it together I just got a computer. I’ve been doing everything from my phone and my PlayStation GoPro also.

@@GRANDPAWOOODOGGY Fun fact: 99% of you tubers will not get anywhere. This guy makes these vids to sell you stuff. These are advertisements. Do not believe advertisements.

Fun fact. Being a "KZbinr" is a job which is a way to earn money. I do earn but it's not the only motivation. Just be real about your "facts" before you throw 'em out there.

Hey Kevin, do you have your videos transcribed or do you just let YT do the auto translate? Thanks!
@KevinKolbe2 ай бұрын
I let KZbin do it.

Hello! First thank you for taking time for doing all these amazing and encouraging vídeos. Second, I am on impasse, I am bilingual, do I post on my madden language or in English? Thank you
@KevinKolbe2 ай бұрын
I'd post in the language you're most fluent and comfortable with which may be the one you can reach the most people with too.

We all got something to say! I’m 58 and perpetually bored. I want a biblical channel, but sort of with reality show feel. Like here’s my opinion on breaking news, here’s me walking in the fall leaves, etc. don’t need no big channel. Just a chill situation

Go for it.

Kevin, thank you for this video. I am a new content creator. In "manage videos," some of my videos on the list show as copyrighted, others say none. Can you explain this? I thought all my videos/content was protected by You Tube.
@KevinKolbe2 ай бұрын
Sounds like something in the videos may have a copyright issue. Reach out to KZbin and confirm or follow the steps they tell you to do next.

@@KevinKolbe Thank you for the information. I did as you suggested. I was using music through Artlist (paid subscription). So yes, there are songs played, but I purchased right to play them on the video. Do I need to do anything? There was not an option to contact KZbin. There was an option to have the music removed, with my audio remaining.
@KevinKolbe2 ай бұрын
As long as your channel was "white listed" thru your Artlist subscription, you should be able appeal each copyright notice inside your KZbin Studio.
