I'm 66 and I'm not doing bad on KZbin. I now have over 18,000 followers. I earn about $100 to $200 a month from it. I make music videos. While filming I do my best to get the video right in one go. So no editing is necessary. The only thing that's hard is not being noticed (sometimes you have security) Smuggling your equipment in. I have a muscle disease, so I can't stand for too long. So if I can do it, anyone who is older and even has a handycap can start a KZbin channel. Greetings from Peter from The Netherlands.

@@PrehistoricMagazine I think your channel contains a lot of content that others have created. That's a red flag for KZbin. There are so many KZbinrs who, on offering advice on how to grow your channel, state that you need to look at your analytics and give the people what they want more of, but I much prefer this idea - to do what you love and bring the people along with you, and you may lost some but you'll pick up others. It all makes life more interesting which is surely the point of it. I guess the younger content creators are looking at it as a business and want to make as much money as possible, but with age you realise that this is not what it's all about. This is great advice, thanks Kevin. Love your channel, by the way. (From London)

Good listening to you again. I look at other videos. Some I like others like the all mouth KZbin official creator tuition ones I don’t. I analyse them and select positive nuances from them to borrow if appropriate and ‘me’. Like you, I encourage chatters on my livestreams to say where they’re from. Americans seem to think they’re the only ones on the Internet so if I get a reply such as NC I have to get them to tell me which ’ country’ that is 😂. I wouldn’t say I was from SL, I would say Scotland, UK since UK is pretty much universally understood as much as UAE. I get a buzz to find people from India, South Korea, Australia and Canada -as well as a great supporter from North Carolina(USA).

I did 3 videos a week for about 18 months from 2016-2018. It really did kick my channel growth into high gear and I grew very quickly after a while. 2 things I've learned since then: 1. That was a winning formula for KZbin in that era. It might not be now. 2. every decision has its ramifications. I went for volume of output over technical quality. That's not the right trade off for others. Everything was one take, one shot and very little editing. Eventually, that didn't work as well for me. Everything changes. Thanks for the great video, Kevin!

Hi Kevin. I just came across this video on my Home page and I like it. You have a great voice, have down to earth quality, and are providing useful information. I have a faceless art tutorial channel and have been on YT since 2021. I really started to get serious about it in Dec 2023 and went from 100 odd subscribers to 1000 in 3 months. I took 3 months off this past Spring and started up again in July. One video took off all because I released it on a different day and time than I usually do. It got me the rest of the watch time that I needed to get monetized and I am now at 8700 subscribers! I have found that 1 video per week is what I can reasonably manage and sometimes I will release 2/week. As a lot of people say, you just have to hang in there if you are serious about being a content creator. At some point it may take off! Thank you for this video. Warm regards, Tracey.

I worked at a local Texas newstation for almost two decades, in the newsroom and in the production side, IT based, and recently lost my job. I keep looking at youtube and all the oppurtunity, but I am reserved about the outcome and the time involved. Maybe, I should do something, don't know. But great value on your channel.

Last year I came across a video of a guy interviewing kids at a HighSchool Robotics competition. Apparently this is a world wide thing i never heard about and not having any kids of my own never gave much thought to such programs in HS. I've always been a hands on, do it yourselfer and thought that would be fun to pass along skills I've learned to younger generations as I see more and more kids not knowing how to even change a tire or charge a car battery, etc. Well I checked the local HS and found they have a Robotics team (FIRST Robotics Competitions) and volunteered as a mentor and I love it! Now with your inspiration I hope to grow my YT channel and teach these skills to not just the local kids but to whoever finds my channel.

Thank you. I have 23 subscribers and it’s slow. However,I’ve concluded that I need to do the work first and then worry about growth. Keep focused on my goals, review and see how and if I’ve achieved them.

Congrats Kevin…you are killing it and it’s so inspiring to watch your enthusiasm. 🥳 Too often do we see mature humans stop living their lives because of psychological and physical challenges and I get it, I live with both daily but I can’t give up after everything I have endured and survived. You Kevin, are giving me hope in my darker moments of life and I hope to launch my channel in January 2025. 📺

I appreciate you so much! I've had my channel since 2013 and only have 40 subscribers! lol I think I may just be awful at it, but I still love doing it. I was let go from my online tech job of 13 years at 56 and then again with a coaching job after 8 months at 58. I'd love this to work and be my 'job', but I'm just not getting it moving. You're videos are helping so much and giving me hope. I'm also a Jesus freak. lol Thank you for what you do from Oregon!

I am 52 and just started my second KZbin channel. I had lost track of my first one (popular music with pretty photos as a background) and recently recovered that channel after 10 years and one of my videos had 41 thousand + views. It was people like you that inspired me to really try this time. I've been doing it now with my new channel for a few weeks with minimal but clear growth. Thank you for all you do!

I’ve watched probably 50 or more of these advice videos about how to grow your channel, and this one was by far the most helpful and inspiring. Loved the part about you are who God says you are. You were the first I’ve heard to mention prayer, and it has been a big part of helping me grow my channel 🙏Thank you!

Hi Kevin, Kevin here. I commented on how your videos have helped guide me to doing my own videos. Still practicing talking to a camera and wow, hanging me up as little. I find the more I do, the easier it seems to get, so now practicing daily, it least a little. Love your videos and looking forward to more🙂

Just found your channel and subbed cheers. Ive been uploading my photography based channel for seven years it's done well the last two years gone from 1k subs to almost 3k so it can be done. I pretend not to care when a video absolutely tanks but In truth it's frustrating there's no obvious reason why some do well and some dont. KZbin Creation still fun though.

I'd be lying if I said it doesn't sting but you learn it's not personal and just keep creating.

I am in my mid-50s and getting active on my channel and I am still working on creating quality content, learning every day and have been binge watching channels like yours giving advice to new KZbinrs. Keep up the good work and I agree there need to be more content creators in the GenX generation, keep encouraging them to get on the platform and share their story.

Just turned 74 and thinking about getting into KZbin. I like that you have a history of doing creative videos and that helps me to I trust what you say. I was a project engineer for a global baby diaper manufacturer. I have been to many countries several times. Really enjoyed all the culture and people I had the pleasure of interacting with so I can appreaciate your comment about friends around the world. I'm from Wisconsin in the USA.

Hey Kevin: So glad I found your channel. Living my best 70++ years in Canada but prefer the warmth of the islands in winters...LOL... Started my channel to help seniors navigate their technology issues thanks to so many friends asking for my help. Its a slow grind so far but thanks to the huge community and folks like you I am moving slowly up the ladder... So much to learn and absorb. In any event I was happy to give you creds on my last video... Cheers🤘
