Beautiful snowy garden walk with Miss Avery. We had limited snow cover here this winter, so is delightful to see your lovely snow covered gardens, and Avery's expression of dog wonderment. A wonderful menu for Valentine's day or any day as you say. To be honest, I was shopping the other day, and I thought I might get a steak, but then saw the prices they were charging and backed away. My point being, the Salisbury steak with mushroom gravy might be the way to go for those of us on a tighter budget, while still wanting to treat ourselves. It all looks delicious and elegant. The broccoli soup looks good but also healthy. The mashed potatoes with a "pool" full of gravy. I love how you guild the lilly by serving champagne with the pink champagne cake. Wonderful! I think that cake would also be a great birthday cake. Who doesn't love a bundt cake? Fun to see Avery and cats scampering up the grand staircase. Thank you for this video. Gets me in the mood for Valentine's day while also lowering my bp due to the peaceful and calm atmosphere. Makes me forget my worries and remember the beautiful things in life. I grew up banging filled cake pans on the counter to get rid of air bubbles. Then I read articles by pro bakers that said this practice defeats the careful mixing to incorporate air.

Happy V-Day, Kevin! I do love a Bundt cake, and this one looks wonderful. Over the years I've found they can be a little bit heavy. One great way to lighten them up is to use cake flour for either half or all of the flour used. Thank you for your amazing company. An alternative to pink or red food coloring in the pink champagne cake: Juice fresh raspberries in the blender or food processor, carefully strain out the seeds, add a little juice to the batter. It gives the cake a lovely pink color without the use of food dyes, which some consider toxic. Love your videos, Kevin. 😊

Well, I for one am glad you were able to wrestle the bundt cake demon to the ground and stand victorious! I think you know what I mean. We've all made Salisbury Steaks at one time or other in our lives, and sometimes comfort food is best. I like a lot of onion and garlic in mine. Simple soups are perfect, and I've made many of those as well... but not for a while. Broccoli just happens to be one of my favourites, and to that end, I really look forward to the day we can add a photo to our comments. EDIT: I just watched this episode over again, and I should have said last time that I'm one of those individuals who likes beef... in whatever form it is... pink in the centre, and that includes ground beef. So... I personally would have them in the pan, in the sauce, on the stovetop for a very short time.

Here's another tip: rub the inside of the cake pan with shortening and then sprinkle flour over it. Roll & tap the pan so the flour sticks to the shortening.

Your home looks remarkably like my parents’ house, that they converted into a ResidentialCare Center. It was located along Main Street, in Mayville, WI. The grounds sloped gently down a hill to the banks of the Rock River, which is lined with Weeping Willow trees. Local older kids joyfully cool off, by swinging from the low hanging branches, and dropping into the waters, all summer long! My mother was an amazing baker and cook. She was a Martha Stewart in many ways. She did everything from sewing, to house painting, decorating, upholstery and gardening. She ordered truckloads of hops from a local brewery to rototill for mulch into our hard, unyielding clay soil, before planting. This garden yielded a bounty of delicious vegetables, that she then canned for winter.

The beautiful meal plan of pureed broccoli, and Salisbury Steak with mashed potatoes and green beans, with that gorgeous Champagne cake for dessert!! How can anyone refuse?! You captured me! 🤓 When you took Miss Avery out for her walk, it looked so cold and snowy!! But I guess she's used to that cold weather. I live in Southern California, but I grew up on the East Coast, in the state of Virginia. But I started out in the New England area, so I remember how cold it can be there, in New Hampshire and upstate New York in the winter. When you and Avery had gotten to the garden section of your property, it looked depressing to me, covered in snow, like a graveyard of what was once so lush and beautiful green during the spring and summer months! But come spring your garden will renew itself again! Maybe you might like to check out Parsnips and Parsimony channel, they also live in upstate New York, and you should see their garden by summer time!! They actually grow big beautiful produce, that they weigh and measure, it's so healthy! ***** Dear Kevin, this is the very reason that I haven't commented on your lovely delightful channel until today, because I can get too eager and enthusiastic, and a bit too chatty, so I apologize if I was too much this time.
