I also like how you can make a mistake and just correct it..not that you make alot of mistakes…but putting the cucumber ends in with the mint leaves is something I would do too! I am so glad I found your channel because you have such an elegant way of entertaining but you simplify it so that it is not discouraging to try! My main dilemma whenever I have guests is that I never seem to be able to make dishes ahead of time. Then I get nervous that they won't turn out right due to the timing. I have watched some of your videos now and have gotten lots of good ideas! I especially loved the meatloaf and the stuffed chicken. Both can be done ahead of time. I really enjoy your calming and sophisticated way of entertaining. Such good old-fashioned etiquette and it's so nice to see!

Your comment about flower arranging reminds me of a time in the mid-60s when my grandmother, a professional florist, went to Dallas for a class in ikebana. We were used to full, lush bouquets such as yours and our jaws dropped when she presented the results if her class...something like a chryseanthemum, a stick, and a rock. Turned out they were very popular with the customers but we didn't have anything like them on our tables. 😄

The wildfires are deemed suspicious. Satellite footage shows them all starting simultaneously on clear cool days, in a flight pattern from Alberta to the East. RCMP are investigating but only have 3 ppl in custody so far for arson. We got lucky and did not get affected. NY really got it the worst. How sad for the ppl affected and the wildlife. On a brighter note thank you for this wonderful video! Gorgeous as always. Your dinner parties must be amazing and if cooking is this stress-free even better for the host. My tummy rumbled while you were cooking the mushrooms and filet mignon!

Everything is wonderful! I love the flower arrangement. The cucumber soup is perfect for warm weather. My mom used to make meringue cups and fill with various things, including fresh fruit, whipped cream, and ice cream. I'm not sure if I have ever made myself. The beef and mushroom dish looks excellent for a dinner party, along with roasted potatoes. Guests would be very happy. Thank you for the great video. my friend did flowers for the white house many years ago during clintons time, he told me to use a 3 point or 5 point system. like taking a triangle of flowers and repeat for as many flowers needed. same with a 5 point. i told him he had more faith in mr than i did and i enjoyed the surprise when he does them.

Another fabulous one! So funny you prefaced the arrangement of flowers [that turned out exquisitely] with the disclaimer that you are certainly not a floral arranger but you could have fooled us any day of the week! Great idea to pencil in a template for the meringue then flip the parchment prior to piping. It's kind of you to mention the people and animals negatively affected by the fires. Being from Colorado that's why I hardly ever complain about the snow or our current rainy spring. Water is liquid gold in the west and keeps us from burning up in multiple forest fires for sure! Always best to you two and the pup!

Your dinner parties are always stunningly beautiful and delicious. This one is especially award worthy! I might just make the sirloin main course (Minus the potatoes) and vacuum freeze it in meal size portions. I would bake the potatoes to add when I'm going to enjoy this dish (potatoes do not freeze well). Anyway, yet another lovely dinner, Kevin. Oh! And the meringue/lemon curd dessert is really pretty and decedent. I just had to see little Binky, as I have loved Avery she is so cute especially with the Christmas tree decorating, I cried with you over beloved Tiger, whom reminded me of my own precious Putthy Cat - I absolutely love your love for animals, including Binkys mum - have subscribed straight away. BTW, the fires in Nova Scotia are really bad. The military has been called in to help. I feel so bad for those who live there. And I'm sorry that your eastern states are suffering badly from the smoke. Here in Ontario, our air is fine, so far. We had some smoke last week coming all the way from Alberta. Very frightening!

This all looks delicious. My husband and I don't eat beef but I am thinking that this would be delicious with chicken thighs! Your table looks beautiful and the floral arrangement is just lovely. I am about 2 and a half hours NW of you and we had terrible smoke as well. The atmosphere was yellow for 2 days! We didn't let our indoor cat on our screened porch as we usually do. I was thinking about all of the forest animals and farm animals too. I hope all of the people are safe and didn't lose homes.
