A family troop of macaques in eastern China. The family consists of several females, infants, and older siblings. Majority of this clip is of one of the older siblings keeping his younger sibling out of trouble.

Thank you for filming so long and sharing it. It felt more like I was there. So many people leave 30 seconds. This little baby boy must be the son of the troops Matriarch. He us allowed to run over anyone there. His older siblings rank just below him. He can climb on their heads, ride the other baby's back, pick in everyones mouth for food. His Mother would severely reprimand anyone who didnt honor this code. He's learned quickly, there are no punishments for him.

All babies with this type of macaque can roam around and play with anyone. The males are particularly good with all infants and this can give favor to them from the female. They act accordingly with all infants as they don't know if it is theirs or not. This has nothing to do with ranking.

I see. Thank you for sharing. I've seen many different primate groups have major differences in the care of the young. I love the group that has bright orange babies so the whole group knows where he is at all times. The way a baby is incorporated into a group and cared for, I feel, is what makes humans like a species more. If it eats it's young (rodents), or stays with it for days after its death (elephants, primates, saw a dolphin with it s deceased newborn on her back carry it for days and kept bringing it to the surface for air, etc). Lucky you...to see first hand. :) Thanks again for sharing.
