Thank You very much, Dear Mr. Kevin Stratvert! In fact not many are so fluent with printing their tabulation jobs done thru Excel. Me too! That is until I grabbed hold of the hidden intricacies in Excel! Your informative article video instructed me on more unknown nuances and intricacies. Mastering MS Excel is indeed too a gigantic task! And mastering MS Office wholly is even more gigantically gigantic! Thank you very much once again! Years ago, on my very first day, as the instructor of Computer Applications, before the students, I filled up columns upon columns and created a table. (Of course, carefully evading visits to the unknown corners in it!) Formatted painstakingly every data in each cell and "Presto!" "Control + P" and a stylish gesture and a "Hit "on the "Enter Key!" Whirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - - whirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - - whirrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! The single table of a quarter of a page gobbled up the full ream of paper and blinked for more! I forgot to "Set Print Area!"

Pro Tip: Create a folder in your KZbin account under the SAVE header just for Kevin's video's (or maybe call it a Cookie Jar) You can then bookmark them and refer back to them later using play/pause/play/repeat until you're confident you understand the instructions. I have multiple folders on the various topics I'm interested in and that way I don't have to do a search to find the videos again.

Including the grid lines definitely helps making the sheet more readable for the end user. I also like shading some rows but clicking on the row number then home/format/format cells/fill and giving it a light shade of gray. This effect looks like tables in Word, with the added option that one can shade something other than every other row. Doing this for a couple page printout is often worth the effort, especially if the Excel sheet is inserted in a longer document going to press.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut column: Narrow the column and let the title flow to two lines (set that row height to fit). That will cause the print area to enlarge to fit the narrowed column(s), and coincidentally push more rows to page two. Also, page numbers are traditionally placed in the bottom header.
@RickTexas2 жыл бұрын
I was going to suggest the same thing about the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut column. That is a waste of space that would make the page easier to read if fixed.

At work, I am known as the formatting guru. I used to have a strict boss who said no one is to ever send an unformatted document or spreadsheet to a customer or vendor. My biggest pet peeve is when someone sends a spreadsheet and selected border formatting across the entire spreadsheet, and it will print a lot of pages. So, I got used to reviewing print/formatting every document/spreadsheet. I would have lessened the width of the white chocolate column by wrapping the text and using ALT+Enter to drop text to another line within the cell, then narrow the column. When there are a lot of columns, landscape orientation will be needed. I sometimes use page setup, page, Fit To and add a number of pages. Then I go back to print preview and see how the page(s) looks. If there are multiple pages, I use the header/footer tab, go to the footer section, click on the drop down arrow and chose Page 1 of ?. This lets people know how many pages are in the worksheet. Sometimes spreadsheet formatting can be a challenge, but I enjoy it.

"Black and White" and "Copy count" in Print sub-menu in Sheet Page set up and printing of a Workbook with different ranges of data with differently formatted and or similarly formatted Worksheets.

I'm a silent subscriber but today I have a question. I made a duty roster on landscape orientation that spilled to a second page as there are more & larger columns than rows so I chose to fit the sheet in one page. However, I now have a new problem. Although the sheet is evenly placed from side to side as the margin allows, it is not evenly placed from top to bottom on the A4 size so the content is in the middle with too much blank space at the top and bottom. Please, how do I spread the content evenly across the page? Great job Kevin. I must commend you. Your explanations are always very clear and easy to understand. You have no idea how much you have helped me with your videos. More power to your elbows. Thank you!
