I tried a website a few years ago when the pandemic started. I was so excited and enthusiastic until I saw the "Admin Experience" page. I wish I had seen this video way back then. My website might have still existed. I'm just a domain name now. My work uses WordPress for content and I needed a reminder how to navigate around. This tutorial has made me feel more confident. Kevin you are my go-to when looking for tutorials. I am following along on this tutorial but I do not see all the same things your getting on your free account. When editing, I don't get the box up on the corner of the block I am working on at all. If I go to the top tools, they do not function like your toolbox above your blocks. At 26:28 instruction above, I only have the move up/down button at the top of my screen and it moves the blog block straight to the top or back to the bottom and no in between. Any advice?

It's funny how at the start of the video i was like wait a second i know this guy i think I've seen him before and i couldn't remember from where. Thanks! Most web hosts give you access to FTP to transfer your files from your computer to the web server. I don't believe the free tier of wordpress.com offers FTP access though. All website work is done directly through the dashboard and the site editor.

I don't know why, but when I started using WordPress a couple months ago, it was EXTREMELY convoluted and very disorganized. It might not be confusing to others, but it was very difficult for me to navigate. For example, if I pressed on a button to help out with templates, I would be brought to a page with templates, but no sidenote explaining what these are and what they achieve. That's just me

Here's my Google Sites video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3iYYpewaqynY8k WordPress is more feature rich and customizable. Google Sites is more simplistic, but still able to pull together nice websites. To build a professional website, I'd opt for WordPress. For a very quick website to communicate information, Google Sites works great. Hope that helps!

Wix also offers a very user-friendly site editor, and they also offer a free tier. One nice thing about WordPress is that you can easily switch out your theme. With Wix, it's difficult to change your template/theme once you choose one.
