@@alfa7108 Actually, from both gamer and rc hobbyist perspective, I think he should get into the rc hobby, he has nothing to lose if he has the budget. Personally I think gaming is much boring as it gets too competitive these days most of the players are toxic, but it is atleast good for racing sims. It's really good to see more people are getting in this hobby, it's pretty friendly and peaceful to work on your rc car for better performance rather than fighting endless hordes of creepers

Great vid! The lead coming off the esc is for a hobbywing motor, the esc can read the temp when paired up. Im using a max10sct combo with a hobbywing 3660 (550) 4000kv on my hpi blitz and its fast on 2s!

I got 75mph with my EZ run max10 ESC and a 4000kv ez run hobby wing motor with a 76t spun and a 31t Pinion with a 5200mah 50c 3cell batter (Lictron). With DX3 remote. Any idea on how I can get it up to 100 to 150mph? Plus I rebuilt the transmission with all HR parts like the seal differential. All harden still gears!

The small plug is for the motor, it is a heat sensor. You don't have to use it but it helps to protect the motor from over gearing, like if you were trying to make a traxxas do 100mph or something. :)

Running the stock Tires on 3S, the Rusty vxl will run 76MPH. Just remove the rear Spoiler, and flip the front Bumper over. Gear it 31-76 and 76MPH is pretty easily achieved.

I had stock tires on my vxl and on 2s one over ballooned and stripped off one side and then ballooned more and wiped out lucky it didn't hit anything. No I have trenchers and they handle fine about to go to 3s.

for me, the sct combo is 150 aud, and the sc8 is 100 aud only for the esc. i was thinking of going for the castle combo and then upgrading my esc later. So what motor would go with the sc8 for under 200aud

Amistry20 I have my sc8 in a 2wd with the hobbywing ezrun 3660 4000kv. Great motor and I have even run it up to 4s lipo. Stays real cool and then you have everything waterproof. I think that should stay in your budget

you'll definitely get more speed out of the hobbywing combo. I dont own a velineon system but i do know that when people gear them up they often overheat or burn out easily, and thats on 3s. with my combo geared up on 4s, and keep in mind hobbywing does not say that the motor can take 4s, it stays very cool and i have no doubt that I could go at least 70mph maybe even 80-90mph or more with timing turned up and more gearing. Also if and when you want to go faster hobbywing makes several motors that are slightly larger and could handle some serious speeds, without totally breaking the bank. hope this helps!

Nice, i was thinking of going with a tenshock sc401 or a castle 3800kv. I have heard some bad things about hobbywing motors getting quite hot, but if you can get those speeds, i might go with a hobbywing. Did you have to modifry the chasis/ drivertain to fit the motor?

Those badlands sure as hell wont take that kind of abuse if you are going to attempt 100 mph you will need some pro-line primes or some thing like that. Just get some street tires.

Hello, I come for this reason ask for help from someone who knows, which is: about oil shock absorbers, ... once bought a pack of 4 or 6 bottles of 60ml with numbers on its label that goes from 800 to 3000cst, .. I believe this is the name, and what I wanted to know is with the increase of such number (cst) the oil gets thinner, or thicker! overall and for 1: 8 and 1:10 scale cars of road, what would you advise? , .. because I think what I have very thick, though, that some say is also for differentials, if you can give me a help in this issue of damping oil I appreciate, .. thank you

This was my first Hobby grade rc back in 99, the electronics was absolutely garbage, I bought a Losi XXX graphite a couple weeks later and never ran the Rustler again till years later when I upgraded all the electronics and gave it to my son.

Aluminum hexes are a must when upgrading this thing or running on LiPos. I bashed my Rustler quite a bit and they stripped on me when the wheel nut came a bit loose. Don’t suffer the same fate I did. It made removing one of the front wheels so impossible I literally had to destroy it to remove it.

Lmao, you hold the set and hit the power and as soon as it turns on to release the set to set the neutral safety. if you hold the set then your going into the esc programming. Such as Drag brake settings lipo settings, motor rotation settings.

That's the only downside of rc bashing. You get 5 to 30min before something breaks enough to end day after all preparations to get there. Then got to spend more on tyres and parts than a real car only to wait for months to arrive. I'm starting to get over it all. My rustler vxl 2wd will do crazy wheelies at less than half throttle while travelling above 70mph. Don't need 4s, just get next rc buggy size up Proline Badlands wheels, tyres glued with foam inserts. Sounds like rubber ball bouncing down road when cartwheels at high speeds. So much traction and speed.

Did you take the foam out of the battery tray that's how I got my battery to fit in my xl-5 also any battery esc and tires recommendations

Hi RC Pros. Im a rookie at this ha ha ha I need some real help hahaha Here it goes I have Brushless Traxxas Rustler i bought brand new. The original Traxxas 3350R Velineon VXL-3s Waterproof Brushless Power System burned on me in a week after i did the speed gearing 31/76. Now i have a Hobbywing 2600kv with the hobbywing max10 esc and running a 4s Traxxas 6700mah lipo. with gearing of a 76 tooth haha i dont know what my pinion is. I want go faster. What gearing should i use on the hobbywing 2600 or motor. Thanks reply asap haha

It’s a velanion motor - I’ve got one in my stampede 2wd grave digger. Mine is well uncontrollable at top end 😂 You might wanna upgrade the drive shafts too chap - I well mangled a few on mine

Little late but The wire that you didn’t know what was is to plug into a hobbywing motor with a heat sensor

That extra wire is for the temperature on the brushless motor but it won't work for the motor you have

My rustler vxl won't do over 40mph it's got a new gearbox and the big black gear inside is now 83 and when I first had the gear box the car used to wheelie . The gear came loose so I tightened it up all the way then loosened it one turn like a KZbin video said and now it doesn't wheelie or seem as fast got the garmin gps attached. Any ideas anyone??

Hi rc ers. I have the same car. System is almost the same. Except I have the hobby wing 2600kv motor and the same hobby wing esc in this video on 4s battery . I took out the Vilenon motor and esc got fried.What y’all think? I’m new to this ha ha ha

Lol 100mph with that setup. Maybe if its riding in the back seat of a racecar. Those tires dont hold up to 55mph on my hyper sste, now my grps hold up great and they've been proven again and again but this is just a misleading video traxxas probably sponsored
