This. The amount of times I've had situations where there's only me and one teammate left and they decide to go down surrounded by a million cops, guarded by dozers and tasers shouting "Save me! save me!" or "Bro, why aren't you doing the objective?!" It's like bitch, I'm trying to hide, secure doms and bring back my entire team. If I can barely survive doing that, what makes you think I can go down the the lobby of Hox breakout D2 and hack that computer that's guarded by like 3 snipers, 2 minis and 3 medics along with the skaven horde down there? Sometimes you gotta bite the bullet and turtle down to survive. It was the same way in PD:TH. Had a pub in diamond heist where the entire team got into custody, so I was turtled on the roof hoping to get the right chopper RNG to survive because they ate my medic bags and I had like 10 HP. You can't always play it fast and loose if you wanna win.

Some people are honestly clueless. Had some host nag us about getting the bike during assault on Biker day 1 while he was in custody, seconds after I tell the team not to do exactly that. For the uninitiated, getting bike during assault on Biker is generally a horrible idea since getting on the bike triggers an infinite assault. If the space isn't clear when you start driving away, chances are you'll get shot to death before you can do anything with the bike. Usually ends in restart since clearing all the spawns outside is borderline impossible once infinite assault starts.

I just completed my first DSOD heist and that is absolute hell. It was counterfeit, and we had to do like 14 hostage trades but we did it! As absolutely stressful as it was (standard cops can gun you down in 2.5 seconds), it was kinda fun and I want to do more.

I think Armorer and Hacker are also 2 good decks to learn on, Armorer teaches you how to be cautious and use cover and is fairly forgiving with the 2 second immortality, 2 shot armor and quick armor recovery rate, and Hacker teaches you not only how to break out of cover instead of hiding in it forever, but also how to be your team's designated killwhore, clearing out enemies to make clearing out the road spikes or whatever just that little bit easier.

nothing wrong with practicing with AI, but it's always better to just do it with other players and get used to the whole teamplay aspect. if you can do DW without complications, then you should be fine as long as you bring a good build and know what you're doing

Good video, I actually agree with all of these points. I'm especially glad you addressed dodge as it quite literally slows down the learning curve by rewarding you for making bad decisions. I do howevever feel like gamesense should be talked about, as well as some other points for people that are trying to learn: Learning objectives on maps is good, but I feel like the main mistakes I see people making is just them rushing from one objective to the next. Usually this is done by sprinting across an open field and praying dodge works or just bruteforcing the last bit with swan song. They're probably used from getting away with these sorts of plays on lower difficulties and the best way to get good at managing yourself through the game and learning gamesense is to be aware of these mistakes. As the player you should always be trying to think ahead and considering your surroundings and your teammates. Rather than running directly from objective to objective, try to ask yourself what the *safest* way is to get to your objective. Think of the map as a big field of different pieces of cover and try to run from cover to cover, reducing your time in the open field. Unfortunately a lot of this does come down to learning spawns (to know what areas are safe) and possible paths and takes time to master, but just actively thinking about it will improve your gameplay as you're now using tactics rather than bruteforcing. Another thing that I personally recommend to slightly more experienced players is using "bad" weapons. This mainly just comes down to not using the most op stuff like dragon's breath and akimbo SMG's. This has to do with the idea that the less you can rely on your weapons, the more you're forced to think in order to survive. Similarly a worse perk deck can help you improve by forcing you to think of situations beforehand. Then there's also the point of targetting. Understanding how targetting works in this game will make your life a lot easier, and grabbing the 2 point skill 'Optical Illusions' will already make your life a lot more bearable as you'll be targeted less, specially if you have jokers. A much bigger point however would be using silencers. I personally used to think people just used silencers for the stat increases or because it made you feel more deadly, but I assume many people will make the same mistake in assuming there's no real reason that silencers are used by everyone. Silencers *will* affect targetting by making your shots silenced. Unsilenced gunfire alerts enemies of your locations and will make them target you more. On top of this it's often even a good idea to not shoot cops at all. If they're far away and haven't noticed you yet, leave them be. It can take time before cops will actually target you and this time lets you get away with moving around and doing objectives. I'd also just like to point out that the real reason you should honestly run scavenger is just because if you don't have the skill, people with the skill will be able to literally steal ammo from underneath you.

I can usually play pretty well with stoic and kingpin, but when it comes to anarchist.. there seems to be very little room for error 1 mistake, a bad reaction, or even not hitting your bullseye in time can get you downed, im sure i just need more practice but playing in zerk especially can be difficult for me. I also never understood the 2 seconds of invincibility if someone doesn't mind explaining.

i think anarchist is a good perk if u can keep track of enemys which targets you. also if u fail and if ur armour breaks, u will be invincibile for 2 seconds (15 seconds cooldown). i am usually bad at keeping track of enemys which targeting me, but i can clearly say that when there is just 2-3 normal polices shooting at me i can still survive without getting down. there is 3 skills that gives u armour but with cooldown. 1-) bullsie (idk the name) gives u 5 armour and has 2 second cooldown. 2-) anarchist's first card, which giving u some armour around 3 seconds cooldown. 3-) anarchist's last card, which giving 10 armour and has 1.5 second cooldown. when they all combined, if enemy has low rof, it will be easy to survive.

I rarely get kicked from DSOD lobbies or kick people from DSOD lobbies so there might be a couple reasons why you're getting kicked: Wrong build, perkdeck (rarely see anyone kicked for this), relatively few hours played, not infamy, not level 80-100, or maybe some mods you have

You probably aren't using the right skills / perk deck. Remember that stoic isn't 'infinite', you still take damage so need a way to recuperate that health, hostage taker in mastermind tree is basically the only one unless your team has some way to heal you

DSOD is for completion achievements standard DS is for stealth and cheesy xp farming on certain heists tho for a new player, i'd say: Normal is for learning the basics and certain Hard is for once you've learned the basics but are still low level Very Hard is for career mode or if you're under rep ~50 or so Overkill is for fun, achievements, and a balanced risk/reward ratio for grinding (once you're high enough level, anyway) WARNING: above Overkill is the Sweat Zone. Stay out for your own sanity unless you know what you're doing. Mayhem is for when Overkill would feel too boring but you don't wanna break out the really specialized DSOD-tier builds quite yet Death Wish is for when you want to use your DSOD builds without the agony of DSOD, or you're going for the few achievements that specifically require DW (overdrill, reputation beyond reproach, etc.) Death Sentence is for stealth heists and xp grinding (especially with a well-coordinated ecm rush team) DSOD is for completion achievements and never to be touched again unless you're helping someone else get them

I think all of these points are really good but I disagree with #1. I think you should start on DW BECAUSE it's one of the best ways to learn not only #2, but also how your build would probably play in DS and how you should approach a heist with a different build without the stress of a wipe. DW and DS has the same breakpoint, so your lethality can be tested on the field in a more lenient environment.

Hmmmm, missed the point. DW has too weak damage of enemies, best is to start on easier maps I mentioned on DSOD. DW is there for learning/achievement/map wise, rest is being ready ahead of time on DSOD.

For high detection builds that still need mobility, 70 armor is great. Light enemy units do 67.5 damage, so it save you a bit of armor left, this will save you on next shot. Shields do 70 unfortunately, so watch out for those.

that's the misconception. In DW or lower, that would make sense. But for DS, faster armor regen = means more hits can be taken every 2 seconds. Also gives more variety into crits/skill builds, etc

@@KevKild I was making a dry joke... You can't play death sentence if you're not playing on the death sentence difficulty, hence, the best (and only) way to play death sentence is by playing death sentence instead of another difficulty, like death wish.
