Patrice O'neal: French Ghosts - Sacre Booo. Ha-Ha! Damn, I miss that dude! Patrice was right, there is not an inch of soil on ANY land/Country that someone has not died on. No matter where you live that place will have a history of death. Deal with it. Opie should've bought the house if it was going for cheep (for NYC), as expensive as Manhattan is, shoot I would've went for it, and I'm a friggin coward when it comes to creepy sh*t. But decent real estate in New York City is not easy to come by when it comes to affordability.

I grew up in a haunted house. A young mother in 1942 was strangled to death in the basement. Decades later my dad bought the house and the ghost of the strangled woman hung out in the basement. But its not uncommon, people die everyday and most are unpleasant deaths. If we let ourselves get spooked from living somewhere because someone died an unpleasant death there then we'd have nowhere to live.

I will never understand the stupidity of people who refuse to buy a house because it's allegedly 'haunted'. I mean If you're fucking stupid enough to believe in ghosts...I actually like the fact a house's alleged 'haunted' status actually brings the price down - means someone like me - who isn't a complete fucking idiot - can snap it up at a bargain price.
@Vastspartan8 жыл бұрын
You havent had an experience have you?
@E101ification4 жыл бұрын
@@Vastspartan Actually I have. When I was a child I was staying at a relative's house and came downstairs in the morning to the living room. The living room door had that weird rippled glass, you know where you can see through it but everything's all distorted? I looked through the glass into the living room as I was opening the door and saw my grandmother sitting in one of the chairs. I started saying good morning to her only when I actually entered the room there was no one sat there. I freaked out and ran upstairs to bed and hid under the covers like a little faggot - as though supernatural forces can't penetrate duvets. I was convinced for a long time that I had genuinely seen some sort of ghost. But years later I actually educated myself about the human mind and what it's capable of, how we're wired to see patterns and our brains will create the illusion of something being there if there's enough visual stimulus resembling it, not to mention how unreliable memory is (you know every time you remember something the memory is distorted?). Over the years I've noticed the same thing happen a few times - I'll be walking down the street and think I can see a person in my peripheral vision but when I look it's actually a street sign or something that resembled a person from my angle. Derren Brown has made a career out of exploiting these tricks of the mind for entertainment and other less scrupulous people have a made careers conning people. In short, there isn't a doubt in my mind that what I saw was simply an optical illusion that my own mind exaggerated the memory of over time. So yes, I have had "an experience", actually, and it doesn't impress me one iota.
@E101ification4 жыл бұрын
@@Vastspartan I will say though that I've softened my hostility towards supernatural believers in the last 3 years. There's far worse things to believe in.

Look, I don't believe in ghosts either but the idea that it would bring the property value down is reasonable. Just like if a guitar was Elvis's guitar, it could by like a bunch of mass produced ones, but the fact of how it was used and the context of it changes it's value.
