Great shave, Kevy! I like my Rockwell 6S so well, I don't think I could ever rationalize spending that much for a razor. I may need to try some Mitchell's Wool Fat sometime. And, the Astra Blue is a top five blade for me! Love it.

I would always watch your long video over the short version, although I'll give it a like. As for MWF, they did not start production until the 1930s and is based on a 1893 recipe rather than the actual formula, the important ingredient for them is the Lanolin (Wool Fat). The recent recipe change replaces Tallow with Palm Oil, I have seen on some more recent soap packaging they have finally removed the "1893 formula" claim!! Have not tried the new MWF myself but it is reportedly not as good as the old Tallow one, I will need to try for myself to confirm.🤟🤠

Great shave. I like heavier razors since since they give me more control and I feel more natural while I’m using a heavy razor. It’s just me, so these are the reasons I can rationally explain. The Rockwell 6C I have, which is also another adjustable razor, is heavy and balanced, both qualities that I like in a razor. Since I’m happy with the 6C, I don’t feel the need to spend hundreds of bucks on an Osprey razor. Whatever little finances I have will be happy to hear that. Have a good one!

Long version has "shenanigans" in the mix, more fun, much appreciated. Expensive razor did the job no sweat, looks good but the price... Mitchell's Wool Fat says original formula on the box, doubt if it has been changed. Mine works just fine, lathers up great. Myrsol is good stuff, like the Formula C and Plastic, Emulsion really works good. Great shave, thanks Kevy...

I think the Osprey is now on my must have list, not sure if to pull the trigger on this one or wait for the Spinal Tap limited edition on that goes up to 11. Simpsons are really killing it with their handle colours and knots especially their synthetics, lets hope they keep on going and we don't lose them like we have done with Thaters and Vielong recently, we need to support these great shave gear manufacturers or we will lose many more.

Great shave, Kevy. I wish to submit that the "long version" episodes are the type I prefer. They have been part and parcel of the Kevy Shaves universe. This style has been the catalyst that differentiates your channel from all others. In my view, I have never understood the need for a reputable lanolin producer to change a proven formula. It is capitulation to the vegan moralist ilk. In retrospect, I should have stocked up on original Mitchell's refills.

This is now reformulated, it still has Lanolin but no longer contains Tallow which prob falls in line with new regulations I guess. I have watched comparison shaves between new and old formula and it seems there is no difference.

Great detailed review Kevy! I can’t be bothered with lathering da fat. I have hard water and it is too finicky - it takes too much time. I can see you did get a superb lather though. Plus they changed the formula so the reasons decrease. Have a good one!

Just being curious - I have never handled Mitchell's Wool Fat soap. Can a bit be either scraped or sliced (with a knife) from the main puck of soap and then this bit used for a bowl lather?

You can scrape some of for bowl lathering, yes. It is a hard puck, but you can bowl lather it. Cheers. Kevy 😀

Looks like a frankenrazor to me, weird opening in handle, and a brass insert, also that gigantic level setting pointer. Weird looking razor to me.
