I thank you so much, for this video! I only use a three-piece safety razor. After each use I always disassemble it and clean it very carefully. Finally with a microfiber cloth. The approach you showed would be too much for me in my daily routine. That's why an Osprey like this isn't for me. So I'm very glad that you showed the cleaning process.

Dave, very helpful video. I'm really waiting on your final review on the Osprey before committing.

Do you get worried about rust building in the mechanism of the actual adjusting wheel. Given that you can't fully disassemble it. I want to get one but I'm worried rust will develop within the adjusting mechanism given that we can take it apart completely.

Stainless steel, especially the type Blackland use 303 stainless, and will the high Chromium content as many watches are made from 303 rust is virtually non-existent . You may get some tea staining if you leave the blade in, but as long as you clean it every so often it is not a concern

The Rex Ambassador, Rex Consul and all Rocnel Sailor also can't be fully disassembled and (aside from the Rex Consul ) these razors exist for over 5 years now and I personally haven't heard of anyone having issues. Can a stainless steel razor develop rust over time? I guess so, but unless you treat your stainless steel razor/razors poorly without wiping them out after shaving and then letting them dry for a few hours or a day, the chances of getting even a hint of rust are extremely slim.

Nice design of razor but not my typical cup of tea to own it!! Machining could be little better tho on it with little more of fine detail but that’s my take! Great Video Dave

The machine work is a joke for the price they are asking it should be fully polished and looking nice, its full of machine tool marks. And the spring mechanism can't be taken apart without screwing it up. Its an overly complicated design for a heft price. At least the Rex you can take the springs out and clean everything. Also its a funky proprietary spring design...

The spring is fixed, that's not a good design.

There was nothing wrong with this razor. There is no spring, so there was nothing to be repaired. The razor is a wonderful design so I have no idea what you’re talking about.

@@BarberDave The internal adjuster is a spring, you can't really get to the spring...although you can take apart the razor cleaning the adjustment spring is fully enclosed...could be good or bad...don't know but Rex has replaceable parts...Osprey does not

@@umbertosmith7014if you are talking about the wave spring inside the adjustment head? Ok it is internal and held with Lithium grease, so water infiltration should not be an issue. I have one of the 1st ones and have had no issue to smoothness or cleaning at all. Like all of Blacklands products. I have never had any issues. But to each their own. Thanks for your comments
