Is it just me, or is it really trippy to see Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood on KEXP? I've always associated it with up and coming indie artists, and maybe a few mainstream artists. But seeing these 2 on here is like the gods coming down to the mortal realm for shits and giggles. Also, KEXP as usual knocked it out of the park with the audio engineering. The mix was impeccable.
@slimyfisher1370 Жыл бұрын
Hmmm...."Gods coming down to the mortal realm" is a bit of hyperbole, but y'know...I mean they are musicians after all. It's what they do for a living, so why wouldn't you want your music on a station well known for promoting great music that's often overlooked by the mainstream media? I guess it's a little unusual for musicians of their popularity. They certainly don't need the extra exposure, but I suppose it's a little surprising when most popular rock bands from the 90s still active are charging exorbitant ticket prices at big corporate sports arena's for little more than an evening of comfortable nostalgia mixed with whatever terrible new music they have, that none of the concert goers actually want to hear. So you do have to give them props for not being boring like that.

And yeah of course I'd like any avenue to experience my favourite music, mainstream or otherwise.

Im Iranian too. I met them after their show in Montreal Nov25th and i brought my lion and sub pre revolution Iran flag with me and they all signed it and also Jonny really got excited about the flag and told me how beautiful the flag is and asked me about the material and the fabric of the flag such a nice guy! Also thom and tom they were both really cool and nice. I also told thom how much his music means to me and how much it changed my life since im also a really big radiohead fan

@@SETRAAKI man, don't ever lose that flag we will meet up in Tehran after we bring down this fucking demonic regime, and we will make a video together and invite them over for their first concert in Tehran, they have a huge fan base among the Iranian artists

Hey! I just wanted to say I have all the love and respect in the world for you and your fight for freedom. The West would love nothing more than for you to choose your own government. One that works for you first, and maybe one that will work with us for a better future someday too. I mean that wholeheartedly, even if it's tough to believe sometimes. Any Radiohead fan is a friend to me - it means I know you have a good soul. ❤️🇺🇸🇮🇷

Damn, it's amazing how much they've tightened up their live performances in so short a time. With this and the Tiny Desk performance, that are masterful stuff.

@alexcraig8543 Жыл бұрын
@@CaveWangApologies, my words were imprecise. I didn't mean tightening up from one performance to the other. Just pointing out both of those being superb as opposed to some concerts from early on in the tour where it sounded like they were still hammering out the live show.

I saw The Smile in Paris when I was on vacation and Robert Stillman (the sax player in You Will Never Work In Televsion) was opening for them. I wish they let the sax playing come through a bit more during this performance of the song, because when I heard it in Paris, it really took the song to a whole new level. I don't speak a lick of French, but that night I was just like anyone in that crowd, just enjoying that raw energy and controlled chaos.

"Thin Thing" is in my opinion Thom Yorke's greatest musical masterpiece...after "How to Disappear..." and "Weird Fishes" and "Idioteque".......and "Fade out"....and I know I'm missing a couple of álbuns here. ..Oh yeah, "Open the Floogates" is also a masterpiece....!!! Fu€k!!! When are they going to do a bad sond!? And thank you KEXP for this....🤗

I knew this performance would be amazing but I was absolutely blown away after listening. It is so incredible that Thom and Johhny have created so much great music, in so many different contexts and they continue to reinvent themselves and stay inspired. Almost no one has been making great music as long as they have, without sacrificing quality or becoming stale and boring. I was also insanely inspired by Tom Skinner's drumming. His playing is super unique and unpredictable in the best way. All around amazing group of musicians creating some amazing stuff.
