The baby was fine until Ólafur started. The parents did try to move but KEX was rammed so moving away was somewhat difficult, I felt sorry for them. Tip: If you have a small child don't sit at the very front.

@@loebie This. I have a 5 month old, parents need to accept you don't get to do all the things you used to anymore, some environment it is not fair to others (or your kid). Have the other parent watch the kid or a babysitter or just don't go. Frustrating when parents seem to refuse to give up anything from their old life or believe they can integrate their baby into everything they used to do.

I saw Sigur Ros not long ago and TONS of people had their babies. It was actually awesome. Definitely wasn't as intimate as this show though. Maybe it's an Iceland thing ;)

Apparently Olafur used to worked as an audio engineer for some time, and he does his own micing/recording/mixing. His live recordings sound on par with the studio versions.

Surprised many are hating on the baby crying - if it was over powering then yes would be annoying … and as a musician can see how it would have been a bit off putting with such a quiet piece… but… really thought it added to it! This is on my download list and actually now tune into the baby which brings out lots of emotions, one of which .. when you have a baby and he/she is constantly crying you would give anything for them to stop.. But when you no longer have that baby you would give anything to hear that cry again.

The baby is more natural I suppose, adds more feeling than air conditioning, either that or it would be pretty awkward if he stopped and asked the mother to shut it up with 20 minutes left.

I suspect that he raised the issue of "noise" to give a subtle hint to the parent that the baby was annoying, without specifically asking for the baby to be removed from the premises. He has more patience than I would!
